Chapter 207
Nathan exhaled and positioned his hands on the table. He had managed to get Avery to come with him to one of the cafeterias in school.

“Thanks for your time.” He told her with a twinkle.

She shook her head. “Well, you don’t have my time yet. Let’s see how long this conversation will take.”

Nathan chuckled. “You’re such a drama queen.”

“And you are a pain in the ass.”

They broke out laughing.

Nathan cleared his throat loudly. “I didn’t mean to walk out on you the other day. I just had to go. I’m sorry.”

Avery sighed. “And I had to be selfish.” She looked away. “I was pissed because I needed to spend time with you and then you suddenly had to leave.”

Nathan smiled. He was glad that Avery was a sensitive woman. He threw his back against the chair. “So what will we have?”

Her lips parted. Avery was about to speak when the lights went off.
