Nathan was more stunned when Phoenix University released a circular through its social media handles. The press release was signed by the Vice-chancellor and it was stated that unless power is restored, the students must remain at home. Nathan realized that the city was in crisis and at that point, he was starting to consider the possibility of the power grids being hit by something worse than a meteo rock because not only was their power blackout, all electric outlets across homes and other places were destroyed. As for the Alcantara mansion, Mike had the power outlets fixed a few minutes after the blackout, and currently, the mansion was operating on one of its standard generators. ****The building where the members of the millionaires club were assembling that night was the recently constructed building. It was running on a standard solar system so when the members walked into the hall, they were greeted with standard cooling systems and functional light units. Immediately afte
Nathan woke up before his alarm could ring. Last night, he had received a text from Mr. Pudolvkin who told him that he’ll be taking the first flight to Rockville. Pudolvkin’s scheduled time of arrival was 9 am that morning so Nathan had designated Mike and a couple of bodyguards to pick him up from the airport. It was a few minutes past 8 am and Nathan was standing before his large dressing mirror, getting dressed. He had asked Mike to lead Mr. Puldolvkin to Phoenix from the airport where they’ll be meeting that morning in his office at the company. Nathan was about to reach for a pair of cuff links when his phone began to ring. He sighed after picking up the phone. “Hi, Charles!” he responded and ran his hand through his hair. “You missed the first class. Are you okay?”Phoenix University had resumed academic activities that morning. The school management had fixed all the electric outlets and was using a standard generator to power the entire school. “Yeah. I have an engagement
A few minutes later, Mike returned to Alex’s office with a receipt. He positioned it ok the table before Pudolkvin. The man took the receipt and his eyes widened in surprise. “You guys paid in full?”Nathan cleared his throat loudly. “This is to prove to you that I want this project carried out ASAP Mr. Pudolvkin. The city has been in the dark for far too long.”Pudolvkin got a notification on his phone and when he checked it, it was an email from his company’s finance department, confirming a transaction in Alex Alcantara’s name for 4 power plants. He turned to Nathan. “McDonald was right. You are the best brand anyone could ever partner with.”Nathan smiled. “So when will you guys ship their plants?”“Give us 5 days. I’ll ensure the plants arrive in Rockville by tomorrow and in 4 days, my team should be done installing them.” Pudolvkin replied. Nathan shook his head. “Time is not on our side.”Pudolvkin sighed. “Fine. Give us 3 days. We’ll work round the clock.”“Deal.”“This cal

After five days of complete darkness, power had been restored to the city.Together with his friends, Nathan strode out of the lab with a broad smile. Fredrick’s butler came running into the mansion. Fredrick who was settled on the largest couch turned to him with a glare. “Why are you running like that?”The butler sighed and was about to speak when Don Fernando barged into the living room. Fredrick immediately understood the butler’s agitation and motioned to him with his head to leave. Fredrick had asked the butler not to grant any visitor access into the mansion so when Don Fernando came barging in, the butler had tried to stop him. “You told your men not to let me in?” Don Fernando screamed at Fredrick’s face. He towered before him with bloodshot eyes. “It’s not what you think.”“Cut the crap!” Don Fernando thundered. After Jackson released Don Fernando, the man had taken a week to nurse his wounds. Avery let out a mild groan and slowly opened her eyes. She shut her eyes against each other and open them immediately after her brain picked up a burning sensation. Her vision was blurred but after she rubbed her drowsy eyes with the edge of her palms, she could see her environment. She quickly sat up, her heart racing. She was confined in a bedroom with the best state of comfort. She was covered with a sheet. Avery began to panic. Where was she? She wondered and began to roll her heavy eyes around the room. When she turned left, she caught a glimpse of a portrait and when she arched a brow, she saw a familiar face. “Kelvin!” she muttered under her breath and quickly rolled down the sheet to her feet. It then dawned on her that she had encountered him at the bar and the last thing she remembered was falling into a deep snooze. She sighed in relief and checked herself. Her clothes were intact and she had nothing to fear about because Kelvin didn’t touch her. She quickly sprung ou
Nathan sighed and shook his head.Mike placed a hand on his left thigh. “You don’t have to worry about a thing Young master.”Before Nathan could turn to Mike to demand how they were going to tackle the situation, the executive assistant had already stepped out of the G-wagon. When Mike stepped out of the vehicle, Don and the other bodyguards quickly surrounded him. They began to shoo the reporters away but some manage to sneak their way around the barricade. Mike whispered into Don’s left ear and quickly moved to the entrance where Elaine was hurrying out to meet them. “We had to place a barricade yesterday. The reporters won’t stop coming.” Elaine told Mike the moment she reached him. “I’m sorry for all the inconvenience this must have brought on Alex.”Mike turned to her with a smile. “I’ve got this.”There were dozens of reporters at the gate, trying to intercept the Alcantara vehicles from moving into the company in their bid to get a response from Alex. Soon, Don was able t
By 2 pm, Nathan and Mike were done with their exercise at Phoenix. Elaine escorted them to the garage and their vehicles took off. While Larry was approaching one of the junctions, Nathan told him to pull the car to a halt once the area was clear. This means that Larry was to stop the G-wagon where people were not loitering.Nathan grabbed a bag pack from the car and then took off his mask. Inside the bag was a pair of casual clothes. They got to the junction and Larry stopped the vehicle. While he was waiting for the area to be less crowded, Nathan took off his Armani suit and changed into the casual clothes. He ran his hand several times into his hair and adjusted his sleeve.“The coast is clear,” Larry announced.Nathan turned to Mike. “We will keep in touch.”He turned to the other side, flung the door to the G-wagon and stepped out .Larry drove away.Nathan stood at the junction for about a minute until a cab pulled over.
