Charlotte sighed and decided to follow Nathan. She wanted to insist that they opt for another eatery but she noticed that Nathan seemed confident. “Don’t worry Charlotte. I’ve got everything under control.” He assured her and took the lead. She began taking steps after him. If Nathan was bent on impressing her, she finalized that he outdid himself. She just hopes that he doesn’t get into any trouble. They got to the entrance and met two unfriendly security personnel dressed in a gas blue DZA men’s overall. The one with a scar on his left cheek turned to Nathan. “Do you have any reservations?”The policy of DZA demands that VIPs make a reservation and get a printout before hitting the restaurant because of its competitive nature. If one doesn’t book early, he might not get the chance to eat there and would have to wait for another opportunity. Chapter 30Nathan folded his arms across his chest and looked the assistant straight in the face. “Unbelievable!” he spat. Is that how they treat people here? He wondered. “Listen, sir!” Nathan began after clearing his throat loudly. He sat up. “I made this reservation a while ago and came here with my slip. I paid for this. This is my spot and there’s no way I’m leaving it for someone else.”Nathan darted his gaze from the assistant to the door where Alessandro was standing in his bid to prove to them that he knew what was going on. They wanted to buy him off his table and he was aware. The Manager’s assistant groaned in frustration. He was hoping Nathan would jump on the offer of getting a bonus since his reservation was going to be revoked but Nathan had turned out to be a hard nut to crack. “Listen to me, young man. As it appears right now, this space will be handed over to the wealthiest and right now, someone richer than you is offering to pay double the reservation fee.”

CHAPTER 31Even though Charlotte feared for Nathan, she was glad that he was able to stand up and defend himself against the injustice the assistant and Alessandro were about to inflict on him. Nathan on the other hand was determined to fight. He wasn’t going to sit tight and get humiliated by some rich dude. “Seems like you didn’t hear me right? I will use this device on you if you don’t leave this place this minute.” The security officer reiterated while pointing at the shock device. Mike ignored the manager and strode toward Nathan. “I’m very sorry Nathan. Please let them make it up to you.”Nathan smiled. “You don’t have to apologize, uncle, Mike. Chapter 33Nathan realized that the events that occurred that evening had suddenly sparked some feelings of suspicion in Charlotte which was causing her to interrogate him. She was looking directly into his eyes, waiting for a response. Confused about what to say or do, Nathan ran his left hand through his hair and put on a fake smile. “I’m serious Nathan. Who the hell are you?” Charlotte maintained a straight face. Nathan was still putting on the fake smile. “What are you talking about Charlotte? How could you even ask me such a question? I’m Nathan Smith, the guy you’ve always known.”Charlotte arched a brow. “Really? Because I’m not sure anymore.”She roved her eyes around the first-class compartment and darted her gaze back to Nathan. “We are occupying the best table in DZA, the fanciest restaurant in Rockville city and you think that’s not worth finding out?” said Charlotte. Nathan could see the anxiety in her eyes. He wasn’t ready to tell her about his newfound identity.

Chapter 34Nathan and Charlotte grabbed the menu cards and began to go through them. Soon, orders were flying out and the manager didn’t waste any time taking it down in his journal. “Is that all?” he said after a silence ensured. Charlotte slapped her card to the table. “That will be all for me. I don’t know for Nathan.” She said. Nathan lowered the card to his chest and raised a brow. “Well, I’ll have some sweeteners after the meal. Just two pieces.”Charlotte hummed. “I think I’ll need two pieces too.”The manager scribbled the last order in his journal. “Why don’t you guys give me five minutes? Please. I promise to process your orders ASAP.” He implored. “Fine. Get on with it.” Nathan replied. Charlotte was delighted. She was finding it difficult to stabilize her gaze on a particular feature in the room and Nathan noticed it. He chuckled. "Open the door!” Greg screamed and went on banging on Nathan’s door. If not for the darn vice chancellor, he wouldn’t have shown up at Nathan’s apartment. He even fought on the phone with his girlfriend that morning because of the incident and now, Nathan wouldn’t open the door. Greg was infuriated by the fact that Charlotte took Nathan’s side and had called to reprimand him that morning for placing Nathan in a bad state.
