Nathan wrapped his arms around Avery, hugging her tightly.

“I've missed you more.” he breathed on her nape.

A few moments later, they broke off their embrace. Nathan slid his arm around Avery and led her to the door. He bent and lifted his doormat. “That's a spare key. I keep it here so you can use it anytime you're here and I'm not home. okay?”

Avery gave repeated nods.

Nathan opened the door and ushered her into the house. He led her to the couch and sat beside her with his hand glued to hers. Nathan noticed the discomfort spread across Avery’s face. He sighed and cupped her face with his hands. “Are you okay Baby?”

“I had a terrible night.” Avery began. She then turned away.

Nathan pulled her closer to him. She allowed her head to fall on his chest. He wrapped his arms around her and pecked her forehead. “Tell me everything.”
