“Isn’t it obvious that you lack managerial skills?” Mr. Carson continued with his legs now crossed.

Samson sighed.

“You should be grateful that I didn’t ridicule you in front of that boy. It’s time to step up your game”

Samson swallowed the lump that had suddenly developed in his throat. He stole a glance at Mr. Carson and caught him fuming.

“I’ll do my best, sir.” Samson said.

Mr. Carson sat up. “You may leave now and ensure that you keep an eye on him.”

Samson nodded and left. He saw Smith sitting idly down the lobby. Samson tightened his jaw and walked up to him.

“Now listen Smith.” Samson began with a more strict tone. “Just because Mr. Carson offered you some money doesn’t give you an edge over others here. You’re still a messenger. Know your place and the contract you signed as a messenger must not be breached at all costs else you’ll be fired.”

“Understood,” Smith replied and stood up.
