Nathan folded his arms across his chest and looked the assistant straight in the face.

“Unbelievable!” he spat. Is that how they treat people here? He wondered.

“Listen, sir!” Nathan began after clearing his throat loudly. He sat up.

“I made this reservation a while ago and came here with my slip. I paid for this. This is my spot and there’s no way I’m leaving it for someone else.”

Nathan darted his gaze from the assistant to the door where Alessandro was standing in his bid to prove to them that he knew what was going on. They wanted to buy him off his table and he was aware.

The Manager’s assistant groaned in frustration. He was hoping Nathan would jump on the offer of getting a bonus since his reservation was going to be revoked but Nathan had turned out to be a hard nut to crack.

“Listen to me, young man. As it appears right now, this space will be handed over to the wealthiest and right now, someone richer than you is offering to pay double the reservation fee.”
