5: INVALID CARD?

Leo couldn't understand what was happening at the moment.. He had inserted the card once again and it had said the same thing!

The doctor had sighed with the belief that his hunch was right. He didn't believe that he could get the money quickly.

"What's... what's wrong.. with this...I'm sure it was sent" Leo was more confused than anyone. He couldn't believe his card wasn't working or something?

"Let me try..." He requested again.

"Please sir! if you don't have the money you can go and get it. You have the time to do so, because when you do so then we shall begin the surgery." The doctor explained.

"But... I'm sure about the money..let me.." 

"Please sir we can't waste time with this. The card is clearly invalid. I don't know the trick you're trying to play but please know that I'm busy and have other patients to attend to. So don't disturb me and go get the money"

Even if the doctor was trying to sound so nice, It was pretty much Obvious from a point of view that he was literally annoyed with Leo and had Simply suspected He was trying to pull off something since he couldn't pay up.

Leo could tell because this was a high class hospital where the rich mostly came. so the sight of something below that level would simply annoy them.

"But can you start the surgery first? I promise I'll pay back with interest..."

"Sir, We have our rules and even before you brought in the patient you must have seen it. So please pay up and stop making it hard for everyone" The doctor snapped as he walked out.

Leo stared at his Phone. He didn't understand what was happening until he went to the message which was sent to him from minutes ago.

It was from his bank 

It was a Message informing him that his bank has been temporarily banned for suspicious activities.

"Suspicious activities?" Leo thought. Then he recalled the huge sum of money which was sent to his account just awhile ago.

He realized that it must be the reason!

He had no choice but to go and quickly clarify things in the bank if he wanted to hurry up and save his mother.

Leo knew delaying the surgery wasn't a good thing at all.

It didn't take him too long by cab before he arrived at the hospital where he had registered his account. He had met with the receptionist and had explained to her his problem.

"Please I'd like for my account to be opened so I can use it for something urgent" He explained after he was done explaining.

The lady gave him a suspicious stare. Anyone who heard the story would also have the same thought.

"Are you a fraudster or something?" The lady asked him. It was what was in her mind 

"No, I'm not. This is basically my money and my account. Someone had sent me the Money not so long ago" He explained. 

The lady wasn't buying it " How can someone voluntarily send you a Billion dollars. Do we look that stupid?" She glared at him.

"I'm just..."

The lady cut him off without even bothering listening to what he had to said" Your matter has been directed to the Manager..And you'll be Called upon in few minutes by the Manager "

Leo said nothing. He simply stood there staring at the lady. He guessed there was nothing he could do but meet the Manager and hope everything works out 

Just as he turned to take a seat to wait to be called, he had caught sight of two familiar male faces.

He had recognized them. They were his classmates back in University before he dropped out of school because of lack of money.

Two of them seemed to have been looking at him as well before he turned. It seemed they recognized him.

"Oh dear! It's really him!! It's really Leo" One of them pointed out, laughing.

"Oh gosh! Leo what have you turned into? A fraudster? a Scammer? have you already gotten to this point?"

They were laughing so hard that the attention of people around were attracted there.

"Isn't it funny? The loser Leo who was so good with nothing but his studies had Dropped school and it didn't end so, He had now become a fraudster in the society and now scamming people of their money "

"I bet that's why his account was blocked " They were ridiculing him like they Previously did back in University.

Leo said nothing. He wished to ignore them. He had turned to walk out on them but one of them grabbed onto him.

"Hey, Leo.. Are you looking down on us? Are you playing cool now after having been caught as a nuisance to the society?" One question as he brushed him down with his feet.

Leo fell down to the floor as he glared up at them, Clenching his fist angrily

"What's with the look? Are you gonna beat us up? Oh I'm sorry scared!" They laughed.

"I heard he's been living a pathetic life Indeed! Been married to a lady and living like a servant in their house. He even took their family name instead " One pointed out laughing.

"Really?"

"Yes, And funnily enough I heard non of his in-laws even like him. No wonder he's here scamming his way to survive".

They were still on about it with people staring at the scene, fascinated.

Leo struggled to hold himself in.. he didn't wish to act up here at the bank.

Luckily then, Someone walked into the scene.

"Where is Leo? who is that? The Manager wishes to see him" The person Informed.

"Oh here he is " One of those bullying Leo stated laughing "Come snd take him and question him"

"Make sure to question him properly " Another pointed out " Make sure to get out all the dirty deeds he has engaged in And I guess he'll have to be going behind bars soon!"
