Chapter 34

Jake’s hand gripped the steering wheel tightly, his foot pressing the accelerator pedal as hard as he could, swerving to escape cars as fast as he could. He could feel his heart beating fast against his ribcage like it was trying to break free, he was barely able to think straight. He glanced at the map on his phone briefly, he followed the direction it was leading him to and turned right, taking another glance at his phone to check the time, he had started a timer immediately after he had received the text message. He had less than twenty minutes left and according to the map, it was supposed to take him forty minutes to get there but he had already spent less than half of that time for more than half of the journey.

“Fuck!” he muttered under his breath, driving as fast as he can, his son’s life was in danger.
