The Beastmaster was startled at the sudden question that Flay posed to him.

Kairo was a supreme alchemist, but Flay was a Tamer all his life. He considered monsters and bestial behavior natural to them.

Even in the kingdom, the youngest Tamers and those who were invalids had become vital to hunts and had brought down the death toll to the point that none had yet died!

And behind this was the Tamer’s mindset. There were lion-type beasts in their villages. Aside from their ancestors' ancient knowledge, was the fact that some of the former traitors of Monster’s Edge had tamed lion-type beasts!

And it was straightforward for a tamer to understand a beast that they have subdued.

“Your scent. I can smell that territorial marking of a lion. It must have been tough on you.” Flay laughed.

The beast master’s expression turned ugly.

“You…!”

“I’ve been around lions. I can tell. Looking at your state, it means this lion is bound in your home but acting like a king. It is demanding food, and you pr

The King and Queen had a private meeting with Estelle. Though the city rejoiced at her return, no one could ever guess the stories that she now had laid out before them. The king was amazed at the stories that her daughter gave.Estelle continued on by saying what exactly Flay had faced in his place. And though Estelle told it as if Flay was from another continent, the stories of treacheries and divisions of what the Abaddons used surprised them.“As he said, the strategy is to give people power or something they will want and yearn for. This will fuel their greed. This will push them to desires and actions that they never once made. And so, division happens. They cause division by giving blessings, power, or even secrets! I have seen and heard of many battles and conflicts within our kingdoms. From small ones to greater ones. From royal families to merchants and even to our own family.” Estelle revealed it all.“The Bishop had served due to his desires for the secret powers of the cr

Flay was led into a massive tunnel and found that the family of Beast Master had turned the entire hills into a den, where they created pits, tunnels, and holes where monsters of all sorts lived. The kinds and breeds of the creatures present were very diverse. The number of beasts captured was probably triple the number of beasts the tamers had. Yet, Flay's unimpressed demeanor was obvious. Darwood noticed the eyes of Flay that had almost anger in them! Flay and Darwood lived two different worlds. The Tamers created a monster community; what these beastmasters made were just captives. Even without the Taming Jewel, the Tamers could cultivate a community if they had the manpower and support of the kingdom. They knew how to ‘tame’ the monsters. To the unlearned mind, a beast master and a beast tamer might seem similar. But in reality, they are vastly different. A beast tamer, like Flay, tames the beast to make them a part of their community, forming a bond of mutual respect and eve

  • Tales of the Slime Tamer   Chapter 320: Picking A Wolf

Flay was a tamer at heart. Perhaps it was due to his bloodline as one of the ancient Marvels, but taming a monster for him was a bond that had to be created. He can pass that bond on to another, but only if he is sure there is a bond. When he offered to tame a monster for the group, he knew everyone would be excited and cherish it. Especially since he planned to tame Low-E ranked beasts. Taming a beast would be detrimental, given the adventures that he had to make. He already had Kairo, the slime, and Stryder, the Night Mare. These two could keep up and even compliment him, allowing him to hide the true powers that he wielded. But Kairo spoke of an Anomalous Beast bloodline that would be his ally. Flay was intrigued by this and desired a dark creature to be his ally. After all, if he could create an Anomlous Beast of shadowy, dark form, he could use his Dark powers to summon monsters using Pluton. Flay turned to Darwood after much contemplation. “Master Flay? Do you accept my term

“Beast Master Darwood?” Flay asked again.Darwood and the rest were awakened from their shock.“Ma-Master Flay… How did you silence the entire…?”“Trade secret. Now, about this young wolf right here… Does anyone know of it’s story?”The beastmasters guarding the kennels saw the wolf that Flay was referring to.“That wolf…?” One of the Beast Masters asked.“Isn’t that Jero?” The other spoke.“Jero? Is there anything interesting about Jero’s history?”“That wolf is known as the avenger. He is… rather famous in these kennels.”“Oh… So it’s that one!” Darwood spoke.“Oh? Tell me more…”“As you may know, we often pit the wolves against each other in combat. This is to determine who the next Alpha could be among them. It is a battle to the death.”“Very stupid, but that’s not important now. Move on.” Flay spoke. The two beast masters frowned at Flay's statement, but Darwood continued.“The father of Jero was slain. While we try our best to save the wolves, deaths happen every so often. Espe

The wolf had evolved before everyone’s eyes.To the beast master, the evolution of beasts was among their research's highest points. Through this, they could give life to the beast and strengthen it by another layer. The problem was the low survival stats. The pills themselves were expensive to create, and as the evolution pills have such a great backlash to the animals, only the strong, those who were Low to Mid E ranked monsters that could match with Adepts, were used. But since they died ninety percent of the time, it was a path that few Beast Masters could afford to give. And yet, the Bloodline Evolution pill worked with great effectiveness! The wolf didn’t go through the painful suffering, and it didn’t take weeks. The evolution happened in mere minutes and displayed significant results! And Jero was just a Mid F Ranked beast! The eyes of amazement turned into lust as everyone desired to take whatever pill that was from the young man!Cerberus lovingly approached its master, who

  • Tales of the Slime Tamer   Chapter 323: Against Two Experts

Because of Flay’s innate ability to gauge a person's Brute and Magic energy, Flay could quickly tell where he could land a powerful damage. He knew that Ephesus would go to his defense. He commanded the Cerberus to make a bite on the other leg. The Brute energy was divided between the legs and the arm. And because of this, Flay weakened that part of the body. Flay’s pitiful strength of 12 points, added with 20 points of Brute energy, half of his defenses of 17 points, and 10 points worth of magic, totaled 59 points worth of punch. This attack would be equal to a mid-level apprentice's. It shouldn’t leave damage to the defenses of any average expert. But in that specific scenario, the guard of Zegwood and the natural vulnerability of that area was enough. Had his stat point been three points lower, this attack would not have worked, and if the Expert was in any way more guarded, then his natural Brute could easily defend against it. POW! Flay was even more intrigued. He had just shown the entire Beastmaster tribe his ability, yet they were certain he would die.He had just fought against an Expert, and while others were skeptical of his attempts, it was still a very impressive feat.“I guess I shouldn’t press my luck. Besides, there are more important matters at hand… This place has too many enemies. I have to also regain much of my lost strength and awaken the Eos System.” Flay decided. If this Chimera was something so powerful that everyone was convinced he was still inadequate, he would have to pursue other means to gain strength.“What is this… chimera?” Estelle asked in the midst of the angry accusations of Darwood and Trailtree.“My king… That is the beast that we have sealed long ago. The creature who was once sealed at the death of my great grandfather.” Primeroot finally spoke.“Trovine Primeroot… The greatest Beast Master who achieved the impossible and reached beyond Great Expert…” The King recalled.“Yes.

Narood and the other experts and high-level adjuncts returned with a rather confident look on themselves.“It seems you finally are agreeing.” Flay smiled.“We will agree. That staff is too much of a prize for us. But... Instead of Tenscream, we will offer you another beast instead. An Expert just like Tenscream. But, you have to tame it. You are confident of taming them, aren’t you?” Narood smiled.“Hmmm... Depends. I’m not saying that I can tame any and all monsters. There are several that will take a lot of effort.” Flay recalled the monsters he faced in his world. Particularly, the Carcadon.“I wonder if they tamed him?” Flay thought to himself. The strange expression and distant gaze of Flay irritated the beastmasters.“Then since we are all agreed...” Narood smiled.“Go and start taming them. Of course, we will set a time limit. You have five minutes! Show us! Show us how one can be the pack leader of the wolves!” Narood taunted.Everyone gave a curious look at Flay.“Here’s a l

A mere Rookie demands to take away my Tamed Beast?!""I already took control of it and made it attack you. Why not?" Flay sneered."That...! That was a trick! An evil trick!""So? I have the skill! Has anyone ever controlled your monster apart from yourself?" Flay countered."My monster is linked to my staff! Without the staff, you wouldn't have tamed it!""Did anyone manage to tame your beast using the staff?" The three generals revealed their power, which made the beastmasters cower. These were the strongest generals who often guarded the walls! But as Kairo had explained, they were actually weaker! Most of the Experts didn't pay much heed to this. After all, the three could have only revealed whatever portion of their power they were comfortable with.Only those who knew of the poison were delighted at how fast the progress was. A few months ago, no changes could be seen. But now, it was becoming increasingly clear."... It's so rare to see all three of you abandon your post. Especially now that the Beast of Dark Savagery lingers outside our walls." Narood answered. His eyes had an arrogance in him, for he knew, soon, he would surpass these three!"The Beast of Dark Savagery has all been slain. Remember their sudden retreat in the last war? They were being summoned. And they were all killed by the Master of that boy you are trying to kill." Holy Knight Galavus answered with certainty.Eve

The people who closed the doors were now panicking to open the gates. They were being forced to keep them closed as one of the prominent beast-taming families gave the orders not to let anyone in. But now, with their lives and families on the line, no one dared to keep the gates closed and be charged with treason.Holy Knight Galavus was famous for the incident known as the Path of Red that occurred in the previous wars against the Joverus Kingdom Alliance. It was here that the power of the Kalenshore Kingdom was revealed. For while the rest practiced magic, they combined it with Brute power and revolutionized warfare. At the center of all this was Holy Knight Galavus, who was the strongest and eventually led the other Experts to his path. When a great battle between the kingdoms happened, an ambush forced the King to retreat.Galavus stayed and fought against several Experts and an army. But his defenses were simply too firm, and his Brute, too powerful that all the magics that struck
