When Did I Agree

Max's lips pressed into a thin line as he felt the warmth of his mother's palm on his. He had accepted what she said, but she could still smell the doubt in him.

He was such a good kid and deserved better rather than staying under the feet of others.

“Take care of yourself, Max, and don’t go back on your word. Make sure to accept the inheritance and become a better person than your dad” she said and Max felt like the entire weight was lifted off his shoulders.

“Okay, mom. I have to go now. Take care of yourself and call me if you need anything” he smiled while caressing her palm.

“I will. Don’t just spoil me too much” she giggled.

“I don’t mind,” he teased before walking out.

However, now that she was nursed to good health, he would worry less about how bad her condition was before. That aside, Max had somewhere important to be.

He rushed out and boarded a taxi to four-seasons hotel. After getting to the VIP ward, he saw Amby was already there waiting for him.
