Chapter 38 - To want to get fat with only one bite.

Mr X remained silent for a long time. His cigarette burnt slowly to ash.

"White Mask, what are your thoughts about the Mercks arriving here?"

White Mask was taken aback. He needed a few minutes to recover from his astonishment.

"How is that possible, sir? Even if any of them did come here, how could they avoid our notice?"

Mr X lighted a new cigarette and began smoking.

"I deduced that Ali or Rowan were not locals based on the details. They had to have appeared lately, or otherwise, the slaves would have recognised them. And based on the current attack pace, I'm convinced they'd just arrived."

Mr X inhaled deeply and proceeded.

"It appeared to be some Mercks managed to come here. If our intelligence were right, Mark had a son named Little Mark, but what most people don't know is his real name is Rowan. From what I can see, it must be Mark's son."

The white mask was at a loss and didn't know what to say.

"But even if it's Mark's son, what use do we have?"
