Chapter 8 - A Friend From Far

Two months passed quietly. Rowan, Ali and his sister got more close and they actually gave Ali a B grade AAD. They had no close neighbours because their residence was far from town and near the mountain. However, once they began to learn Turkish, they went to town frequently and met people. Rowan developed a keen interest in local history, culture, and food. Everything was new to him. Life was peaceful, but no progress had been made with the locket.

After discussing with each other, Ali decided to do part-time jobs. Although they have enough money with their allowance, Ali believes it comes from the general's personal funds rather than the government's. So he reasoned that getting a job would be preferable to living on his allowance. Rowan was introduced to computers and the Internet by Ali. Although he was a bit disappointed with the lack of technology, he silently got interested in various information available on the Internet.

Rowan has even fallen victim to a scam and lost money. He stopped complaining about the lack of modern technology and comparing it to his planet after that day. Perhaps because he was duped by someone using a simple trick. Rowan's pride as a member of an advanced civilization was really hurt.

But it's only aided Ali because he no longer has to listen to Rowan's complaints about how backward this or that is. Ali always brings this up whenever Rowan says something similar. Rowan is constantly being teased by Ali and Jasmin.

Rowan went to see movies and read a lot of books. He was able to comprehend how the earth works and gain a great deal of common sense. Ali and Jasmin don't know why but Rowan wants an underground base. Although Ali was initially opposed, Rowan's words eventually convinced Ali to agree. Rowan's ambition was to construct an underground safe passage near the hill. It's a hill that no one ever visits, and the bush will provide them with shelter. It will help them place their battleship there so that if there is a war or an emergency and they need to escape, they can do so. As a result, Ali agreed.

As a result, they used the equipment and robots purchased from planet Merck. It appears like Grandpa Henry predicted this and prepared them for survival in the wilderness. Although the food or weapons were not used at the time, who knows what will happen in the future. Earth lacks the technology to store food for an extended period of time. As a result, they did not eat any of the food they purchased. They construct the underground base with the assistance of AI. Ali began to address AI as Alice. Rowan found it strange, but he followed Ali and addressed her as Alice.

"So this is the underground base. We can use the secret door behind our house to enter. Nobody ever finds it. The other side is hidden within a mountain. The opening for the base is at the top, and there is also a pool in the middle haha. The hologram may project and transform the room into a beach or space haha. It's the best sensation. It's fantastic." Rowan burst out laughing.

Both Ali and Jasmin smiled along with him.

Rowan had a dream during the night when they were asleep.

He noticed a man approaching him. That man has a surprised expression on his face. He examined Rowan and relaxed his guard slightly. However, he secretly observed Rowan's locket.

He smiled and approached Rowan, saying "Hello, my name is Alex, and I'm the Dorrance tribe's resistance leader. It's a pleasure to meet you. May I know your good name please."

Rowan was perplexed, and he responded "Hello, my name is Rowan and I'm from galaxy zero. I'm simply a regular Merck family member ".

Alex became perplexed by this. "Galaxy zero? The Merck family?. What exactly is the galaxy? Wait, I have seen you, they had a wanted poster of you. That's correct, I saw a soldier handing out a wanted poster of you. Rowan, son of Mark, it said. Managed to escape from planet Merck. It didn't have any additional information, but it did have similar posters."

Rowan instantly became excited "Can you tell me about the posters? Did you come across a wanted poster for my Grandpa Henry?"

Alex responded calmly "I'm not sure, I wasn't paying attention at the time. However, I can look for it. So, could you tell me why your picture is on the wanted poster?"

Rowan described how his planet was destroyed.

"So we aren't the only ones who have suffered. They destroyed your planet, but not before attempting to conquer it. What exactly does this mean? They want something from a planet they have no knowledge of. That must be why they returned with their people, taking over lands and making them their new home. They are not establishing a military base here, but rather a civilisation. It explains everything. There must be another reason they didn't do something drastic like destroy it. Perhaps they don't want others to know about their operation here; a civilian planet can conceal it, but a military base planet cannot."

Alex calculated a lot from Rowan's limited information.

Alex said "my friend from far, we may have a common enemy. Why don't we join hands? I can locate the poster and see who managed to escape their attack. You can help me understand how the outside world works, and maybe we can start something else.

Isn't it strange that I'm inside your dream?

It's because this locket is a treasure given to only one person in a generation in our tribe, and no one knows about its existence in that generation except the owner. It appears that you, too, have a similar treasure. However, your power is not entering dreams. You appear to be about to awaken. Let's meet up again soon, friend."

Rowan awoke unexpectedly. He dashed into his sister's room and called her, then Ali, but Ali was at his part-time job. He told his sister everything that had happened to him.

"So someone with another locket appeared in your dream, and he didn't know anything about galaxies or anything else. And his planet is at odds with the same organisation that attacked your family? If that's true, he might be able to teach you how to use the locket. Let us first wait for Ali and talk with him. He will return soon. Don't worry, I'm sure Grandpa Henry will be fine".

Meanwhile, in a secret room.

"Sir, why did you cry and then laugh? You're making me nervous."

A man sitting next to Alex inquired.

"If my assumption is correct, his ability should be teleportation. We both have the same enemy, so it's only a matter of time before we completely destroy them and reclaim our freedom." Alex mentally calculated.

"Don't worry, I cried because of all the pain our people endured during those years. And I'm laughing because it's all about to end. It's even better than I had planned. If my previous plans had worked, we would have gained freedom at a high cost. It has now changed. We not only regain our independence, but we also have a debt to collect, and we will make them pay the debt they owe us."

Alex looked up at the sky while touching his locket. Then he went to make new plans.
