What the hell?!"

"Are you blind or what?!"

The cold voice of Mrs Nancy echoed through the hall.

“Ma'am I'm so sorry…”

Taa!

Taa!!.

Taa!!!

“How dare you splash a drink on my dress, you good-for-nothing fool!”

The yelling and the sounds of the slaps could be heard from a distance, causing everyone in the hall to stare in their direction in surprise.

This has been the fifth time Stiles Henderson, the adopted child of the Thomas family has been humiliated since the party began.

“What is going on here? Mrs Lisa Thomas and Mr Thomas interceded.

“What is all this commotion all about ma'am?”

Mrs Lisa asked looking directly at Stiles with a scornful gaze, you could tell by the way she made her face that she wished she was the one who had slapped Stile this time around.

“Your good-for-nothing adopted brat spilt drink on my dress.

Lady Nancy said as she held the helm of her gown, which had just a negligible stain on it.

“Oh… I'm so sorry ma'am hope it didn't ruin it?”

Mr Thomas asked gently, his face telling a different story as he clenched his fist in anger.

“Of course, it did look at it.”

Lady Nancy said angrily as she threatened again to hit Stiles who pulled back immediately to avoid being hit for the sixth time today.

 “Once again I'm so sorry”

Stiles blurted out and walked out on them to the kitchen with the tray of wine in his hand.

He sat on the cold and wet floor and tears began to flow from his eyes like a dam out of control, each making a subtle noise on the cold tiled floor.

Suddenly the door opened, it was Mr Thomas and Mrs Lisa Thomas and Stiles immediately jerked up to his feet and tried wiping his tears.

“You bastard!”

“How dare you cause that commotion out there in the hall?”

Mrs Thomas screamed at him angrily as he walked towards him.

“You got guts boy” Mrs Lisa spoke out scornfully.

“Do you even realise who you just disrespected in there?”

Mr Thomas asked as he pulled his hands out of his pocket.

His eyes were ablaze with anger and his veins were bulging out in rage.

Stiles almost peeped his pants as he stared at the angry faces of his adopted parents who do nothing but maltreat him.

“I'm so sorry Mom” his voice laced with sadness and a little bit of remorse.

“It will never hap….”

Before Stiles could complete his apology, he was met with a resounding slap that caused the DJ back in the hall to pause the music as everyone now stared at the kitchen door.

Taa!.

Taa!!.

“Don't you ever in your miserable life call me that, I'm not your mom and I would never be.”

Grabbing him on his trousers, The voice of Mrs Lisa was Vehement.

“The next time you use that word on me, you will regret ever knowing me.”

She said, pushing him to the cold and wet floor.

“Get up and take out the trash, you should know your place here fool.”

Her eyes glinted with venom as she spoke viciously.

She walked out of the kitchen and back into the party hall smiling gleefully as though nothing had happened.

Mr Thomas scornfully gazed at Stiles, His eyeballs almost bulging out with rage.

“What are you looking at, fool, get up and do your job.”

He screamed at Stiles, who was already fidgeting, as beads of sweat built down his face as he held his cheeks.

Stiles rose from the floor picked up the trash bag and headed out to dispose of it into the garbage bucket.

Stepping out the back door, the party was now almost over as the guests were all walking out of Thomas's grand mansion and heading to their cars to head home.

Walking sluggishly and being stressed out from working the party all through the night, suddenly a bucket came over his head.

Mrs Lisa just emptied a bucket of ice-cold water over his head on his way outside, in front of everyone.

“That serves him right… that good-for-nothing bastard.”

The voice of Lady Nancy was vehement as she was escorted to her car by her servant.

Stiles immediately took off the bucket, his face burned red with anger as he glared viciously at Mrs Lisa Thomas.

His fist clenched in vexation as he glared at his foster mom.

“What do you want to do…uh…do you want to hit me?”

Mrs Lisa Thomas said as she walked closer to Stiles Henderson and landed him another hot slap”.

Taa!

“Mom, that is enough!”

Raya Thomas interceded, holding Mrs Lisa's hand from landing another slap on Stiles Henderson.

“Your guests are feeling uncomfortable with your actions, stop mom, that is enough!”

Raya spoke in a commanding yet subtle tone.

“Get your hands off me.”

Mrs Lisa forcely pushed Raya, her daughter aside and turned her attention to Stiles, her eyes glinting with venom as she gazed scornfully at him before walking away from him.

Stiles only stared back at her as he held his red hot cheek with both hands.

“Are you okay?”

Raya asked him in a concerned tone, her eyes filled with worry and a mixture of anger and sympathy.

Stiles looked directly into Raya's eyes, tears welling down his eyes slowly.

“I'm fine, it's nothing.”

Stiles spoke in a shaky voice as he tried to wipe off the tears.

“What do you mean you are okay?”

“You don't look okay to me, you are covered up with ice-cold water and you are telling me you are okay.”

“No, you are not okay.”

Raya spoke in disbelief, her voice reeking with urgency,

“Come on, let's get you cleaned up and changed into new clothes.”

Raya said, her voice which was barely above whispers putting a little bit of a smile on Stile's face.

************************************************

Stiles had just finished taking his bath and Raya was on his bed going through his pictures.

“Awwww…you look so adorable when you are a baby.”

Raya said, her voice mellifluous, Stiles only smirked at her comments.

“Thank you, Raya.”

Stiles forced himself to return the compliments.

He wasn't sure if he could trust the only daughter of the man and woman who had done nothing but maltreat and humiliate him since the day they had adopted him into their home.

Raya turned and gazed upon him, smiling sheepishly.

“I'm done changing, Raya let's get back to the party before Mom gets the both of us here.”

Stiles said as he opened the door immediately for Raya to leave his bedroom which looked more like a rat hole.

“Yes, you are right, let's get going."

Raya replied, her voice was barely above whispers.

Stiles and Raya went back to the party, on their way Stiles remembered that the garbage he took outside hadn't been disposed of.

“Oh shit! Stiles yelled immediately.

“What is wrong?” Raya asked, wondering what might be the problem.

“The garbage hasn't been disposed of."

"I don't want to get humiliated again."

Stile's face was laced with worry and a mixture of anger and frustration.

“Okay let's go get it and dispose of it”, Raya said looking directly at Stiles.

“No…No, you go I will catch up okay, thanks by the way”.

“It's nothing, Stiles, if I were in your shoes you would have done the same for me."

Stiles then moved closer to her and touched her on the cheeks.

"Thanks once again, go on, I will catch up with you."

Stiles said as he ran out immediately.

On his way to dispose of the garbage spoke to himself.

“I really don't understand why Mr Thomas and Mrs Lisa Thomas would adopt me and bring me into their home, I was better off at the orphanage."

“All this wouldn't have happened if I hadn't been abandoned at the orphanage gate by only God knows who."

His gaze fell on a man in a black Louis suit standing next to a twilight fog Lamborghini Aventador.

Without sparing him another glance, Stiles immediately walked past him and was startled when the man called out his full name.

A name he hadn't heard in quite a long time.

“Hello young Master Stiles Henderson”

"I was sent by your father." The man's voice was laced with authority.

Stiles was mesmerised by the quality of fragrance of the perfume that the man wore as he

stared at the man, his face etched with a mixture of confusion and anxiety.

The black bag of waste fell off his hand and made a loud thump on the coal tar floor.

"I don't understand…"

"What are you talking about?"
