Dimension Ring

[You have killed an F+ rank Kreed and gained 200xp and 400 system points]

"Isn't that a Kreed? How were you able to sense it?" The man croaked in a shocked voice, staring at Felix like he was a monster. Kreeds were one of the medium non-human races on Zenith, but they were known for their stealth. It was almost impossible for someone of the same level to notice a Kreed. Kreeds were sometimes feared because they were lethal assassins, yet right now this man before him had sensed it and killed it instantly. How scarier could he get?

"Why is a Kreed here? Aren't they found in the darkness continent?" Felix asked in surprise; even he was shocked by the appearance of a Kreed; he had sensed its presence long ago, but since he had not sensed any bad intentions from it, he had thought it was one of Connor's men, but immediately he sensed the slightest killing intent from it; he had attacked with his full strength; he didn’t even have any idea how shocking what he did was; he had just done it instinctively.

"Yes, they are, so one being here shows that something is wrong. Please excuse me; I have to report this to the patriarch." The man responded and swiftly turned to leave, rushing to report the situation. However, just as he was about to leave, he suddenly felt a strong grip on his shoulder, immobilizing him.

"Are you sure that you are not behind this?" Felix asked coldly as he tightened his grip on his shoulder; his suspicion was geared toward them since the timing didn’t seem coincidental.

"No, please, we have nothing to do with this; we would never side with a non-human." The man said sincerely, almost crying due to Felix's suspicion; he could sense the coldness in Felix’s gaze, and it made him scared thinking that Felix would change his mind and kill him just in case.

"Okay, leave, and remember to deliver my message to Connor or else... well, you know the rest." Felix threatened, releasing a slight killing intent before he released his grip on the man’s shoulder and turned him to face the wall.

"Yes, I will. Thank you for sparing my life." The man let out a sigh of relief and with gratitude, but as he turned to thank Felix, he discovered that he had disappeared together with the body of the Kreed like the wind.

"How does he do that?" The man wondered; he could not understand how Felix could vanish as he pleased, and within seconds too, he suddenly froze thinking of something, then immediately left before Felix changed his mind and returned to finish him off.

"Oh, here I am; I nearly lost my way again" Felix let out a sigh of relief after finally arriving at the weapons shop. He had placed the body of the Kreed in his dimension space and left. He had been searching for the weapons shop for 20 minutes and almost got lost, but fortunately, he had found it.

He leisurely strolled around the area for some time as a safety precaution. He made sure that he wasn’t being followed by glancing left and right, making sure to scan the surroundings meticulously; he couldn’t afford a situation where he would suddenly be surrounded and attacked.

Only after making sure that he wasn’t being followed did Felix finally relax and study the sign that was positioned over the shop. The sign was a drawing of a golden sword with markings and runes all over it—quite a plain sign at first sight, but when Felix observed the runes closely, he felt his mind getting drowsy, so he quickly turned his eyes away.

“Ding”

[Host has resisted a low-level illusion formation]

Illusion formation...’ Felix thought after hearing the system’s prompt that, from the books he had read, there were several mentions of illusions but quite vague. Realizing that he was wasting time outside, Felix shook himself from his daze and walked into the shop.

"Hmm, what powerful intent" Felix said with astonishment. As soon as he entered the shop, he immediately felt a strong piercing feeling like he was being cut by the weapons in the shop; this was the intent stored in high-level weapons. All these points brought Felix to the conclusion that the shop wasn’t a normal one.

That wasn’t his problem though; he had a different purpose for coming here; he needed to arm himself because, with assassins on his back, he needed to have sufficient manpower to handle them. Who knew who they would send next?

Thinking up to this point, Felix focused his attention towards the people in the shop; he could see other customers like him being attended to by the shop attendants.

Felix walked around for some time searching for his preferred weapon; he inspected the array of weapons.

Lined up on shelves were a variety of weapons, ranging from katanas to longswords to sabers and other types of weapons. After searching for a while, he still hadn't found any weapon that suited him.

"Please, what would this sir like to buy?" A beautiful shop attendant walked up to him.

"Yes, um, do you have any throwing daggers?" Felix asked the attendant with a polite smile; he had decided to act normally for once, so as not to scare the woman with his dangerous aura.

"Yes, we do; please right this way." The attendant also smiled back and replied, before leading him to a part of the shop where daggers could be seen arranged neatly on a rack.

"These daggers were made from the claws of an F rank black-furred fox and a two-headed rabid dog, respectively; these were made from... " The attendants patiently introduced all the daggers and their prices with a smile to Felix, who kept on shaking his head while she spoke. Seeing this, the attendant insinuated that the daggers were too expensive for him, hence his reaction, so in annoyance she quickly wiped off the smile on her face and replaced it with a frown.

"Hey, I would like to buy a good weapon." A tall and slightly handsome man barged into the weapon shop with a beautiful woman and a guard by his side; his eyes scanned the occupants of the shop arrogantly as soon as he entered.

"I’ll be right there." The woman who was previously attending to Felix quickly replied with a smile, beating the other attendants to it; the man’s expensive clothes had been what grabbed her attention.

"Hey!" I'm not through with you; where are you going?" Felix was clearly insulted by the attendant's departure to attend to another customer.

"I can see that you’re not interested in buying anything, so I’m going to attend to a serious customer." The attendant replied with a disgusted look, before walking toward the man, who glanced at Felix with a despicable and proud expression.

"Hey, if you bow down to me and call me daddy, I’ll consider taking you in as my servant." The man shouted for everyone in the shop to hear; he was internally delighted. He had been trying to impress the beautiful girl by his side for a long time but to no avail. Now, some idiot had brought himself to be used as a sacrifice, so why wouldn't he use him? These were the man’s thoughts, but clearly, the man didn’t know who he was joking with.

Felix totally disregarded him; he didn’t have the energy and luxury to deal with arrogant fools; his attention and eyes stayed fixed on the attendant, who didn’t also seem to want to bother with him anymore.

"Hey, can't you see that I’m talking to you? Who do you think you are that you can ignore me? My father is a D ranked Esper with an E rank ability; do you know how powerful he is?" After Felix ignored him, the man became enraged. His attempts to impress the girl had backfired, leading him to resort to his usual tactic of using his father's name and rank as a threat. This strategy had proven effective on everyone he had tried it on, and he imagined that Felix would be on his knees pleading in the next moment.

After all, everyone knew that a D rank Esper had a significant amount of reputation, especially in a place like this, but once again, he had underestimated Felix, who didn’t even flinch or bat an eyelid at the man’s words; his eyes stayed focused on the attendant, who was also trying her best to grab the man’s attention, or that was what it looked like to those observing the spectacle.

He was excited when Felix turned to face him, thinking that the next moment, he would fall to his knees begging him in fear to spare him, but Felix’s next words shattered his expectations.

"Were you talking to me?" Felix asked curiously, finally taking note of the man; he had been making plans to get back at the attendant, so he hadn’t even been paying attention to the proud man who had been busy running his mouth.

The proud man almost vomited blood after hearing Felix’s words; in his mind, Felix was deliberately trying to piss him off, and that statement pissed him off even more. His face turned red like a giant tomato, a disgrace he had never experienced before.

"I’ll teach you to ignore me. Don, take care of him." The man turned to his guard, who had been quietly sizing up Felix the whole time, and whispered to him.

"Yes, master" The guard replied with a cold smile, then walked towards Felix, who calmly watched him approach.

All the people in the shop glanced at Felix, who was now the center of attention; some had pitiful expressions and others had mocking expressions.

"Hey you! Can't you see that my master is speaking to you? Apologize, and maybe I’ll break only one arm, otherwise, hahaha." The guard chuckled coldly with a menacing expression, which made the scar on his cheek more scary. He slowly approached the extremely calm Felix; he was about to teach him a lesson when he heard a voice behind him.

"Please, sir, no fighting in the shop; this is a rule made by our shop manager himself." The shop attendant spoke with a worried expression, and the guard, upon hearing this, paused. Despite her desire for the guard to teach Felix a lesson, she had to adhere to the shop's rules to avoid potentially losing her job.

"You’re lucky; this isn’t over; I’ll personally teach you a lesson next time." The guard angrily spoke to Felix, unaware that it was actually the other way around. Felix was silently waiting for the man to attack first so he could retaliate in self-defence. That way it would have justified his actions. Of course, if that had indeed happened, the man would have been lucky to escape with his life.

If Felix had learned anything since his arrival, it was that this world was unforgiving; there was no mercy for anyone; the powerful dominated the weak, and he was determined to confront any threat to his life.

"Hmm, so what would you like to buy?" The proud man softly asked the beautiful woman beside him with a smile; he decided to forget Felix and deal with his main reason for being here.

"I want that dagger." The beautiful woman answered with an enchanting smile, pointing to a dagger that radiated cold energy.

"That's the dagger made from the teeth of a blue-furred frost wolf; it costs 30 F rank beast cores." The attendant replied with a smile after finally getting what she wanted.

"30 F rank beast cores—are you sure you want that one?" The proud man asked with a gulp. His expression had changed when he heard the price; he had spent the majority of his money on other things, and what he had now was 38 F rank beast cores.

"Yes, I’m sure. What's wrong? Is it too costly for you?" The beautiful woman asked with a frown.

"No, it's not; I just don't think that it fits you. Why don't you buy that one since you don't intend to use it?" The proud man spoke quickly, pointing at the ordinary-looking dagger Felix had been staring at.

"This particular dagger was made from an unknown material; our manager found it in a cave within an E rank beast forest, but it doesn't seem to be worth much, so our manager placed it among these F rank daggers; it's worth 80 F rank beast cores." The attendant explained the origin of the dagger and named the price. Hearing the price, the man almost fainted in shock; he had tried to convince the woman to purchase a cheaper one but had instead ended up putting himself in a bigger mess.

"What... didn't you say it wasn't worth that much? How is this worth 80 F rank beast cores?" The proud man asked after hearing the price; he had chosen that particular dagger because of its appearance; it gave off a cheap, generic vibe.

He was also angry that he couldn't afford it, but if he backed out, he would lose face in front of the woman he wanted to impress, so now he was in a predicament and was thinking of what to do when he spotted Felix, who was staring at the dagger intently; he instantly formulated a wicked plan.

"Hey you, why don't you buy the dagger and stop staring at it so much, or are you planning to steal it?" The proud man said, accusing Felix, who was busy staring at the dagger.

"Okay just shut it; if you’re too poor to afford the dagger, then shut up or buy another one and stop trying to impress someone who isn't even interested in you." Felix snapped as he stared at the arrogant man whose face had turned red from embarrassment. He had been paying attention to him ever since he was threatened by him, and he had found out two things: the first was that he wanted to impress the girl, but was too blind to see that she only wanted his money, and two, he didn't have money but still wanted to impress the girl, so Felix already had a bad impression of him; he was sick and tired of the guy’s nonsense.

"Who is poor? It is your father who is poor; do you know who I am? If you are so rich, then I dare you to take out 10 F rank beast cores." The proud man shouted in anger after his plan had backfired.

"If you are finally ready to do your job, I’ll buy all of them" Felix said calmly as he stared at the attendant without even sparing a second glance at the proud man.

"Haha, have you gone mad? Do you even know how much it's worth? I’m sure that you can't even afford the lowest price." The proud man laughed because he thought that Felix was trying to act tough and rich to impress the girl beside him.

"How much is it worth? Can’t you talk, or are you having a mental breakdown?" Felix asked the attendant, who stood there staring at Felix like a fool.

"It's you that's having a mental breakdown" The attendant also replied in anger, her face turning red.

"If there is no one who will attend to me, then I’ll go and find a better weapons shop," Felix shouted in anger and walked towards the door. He just wanted to buy the daggers but just kept on getting insulted, and if not for the no-fighting rule, he would have killed both the proud man and his guard, plus the stupid attendant who didn’t even seem to know her job, maybe even the beauty too.

"They are all worth 3000 F rank beast cores." Just as Felix was about to leave, he heard a calm voice from behind him, which made him pause and turn. Felix was surprised to see a young man almost the same age as him standing behind him with a smile.

“Who are you?" Felix asked the young man calmly.

“We greet the manager." Before the young man could reply, all the employees of the shop gave a bow of respect to the man.

"I’m the manager; I’m very sorry for the behavior of my employee; I will make sure to discipline her later." The young man said with a smile before coldly glancing at the attendant, whose visage paled. As long as the manager appeared, it meant that she would lose her job.

"Um manager, I think you’ve made a mistake; this man is just pretending to be rich; he has no real money." The proud man said respectfully to the manager, this was because the manager was stronger than even his father, who was a D rank Esper.

"Shut your mouth, you little fool, who gave you permission to speak in front of this distinguished guest." The manager rebuked, his eyes coldly glaring at the proud man with anger; his words alone caused the proud man to back off in fear; this was the aura of a D+ rank.

"Here is your money," Felix said, waving his hand for a bag of cores to appear. If it were someone else, this gesture wouldn’t have meant much, but at present and situation, it presented a totally different image.
