Chapter 176

Ruby’s POV

Ever since I had that confrontation with Marissa, Hercules had been complaining that I had grown distant. He said I rarely came up to his room, neither did I let him come to mine. I couldn’t tell him my reasons, I just prayed he understood me.

After breakfast, I took a walk in the garden and I looked up and froze. I couldn’t believe it.

Hercules was staring at me. My heart raced.

Was anything on my face? Was it the make up? Does he know?

Immediately I looked away. In my head, I was running around like a headless chicken.

OMG! What does that mean? Why was he staring at me? Did Marissa say anything?

I instantly ran upstairs and straight to my room. The moment I shut the door behind me, I leaned into it as my heart raced. I didn’t leave my room again. So I began to target when he wasn’t around to come out of the house, but weirdly I always bumped into him. I felt sad that I had to avoid him these days.
