Diane's POV

He walks towards me, I don't see him but I hear his footsteps. Quick and precise, as if he thinks of where and how to step before his foot touches the ground.

I feel his hand in my hair before I hear him say he's sorry. But it's not his fault I want to tell him, he's a prisoner to my father... A slave... Slaves don't have options but freedom and escape. A slave that is given the armour of a commanding general.

“I'm sorry " I say to him instead. For trying too hard and making him stress about it when he dosen't even know what happened to him.
