New life

Lucy had been feeling less terrible, those last days. Her body was not so swollen, or painful. Not so many trouble breathing.

“How is my favorite experiment doing?” Krasner asked, smiling while entering the room.

Lucy was not in a bed, all tied up. She was in an almost empty bedroom. The bed, a sink, a small box as the bathroom and restroom. That was it. Everything white and she was ‘free’ to walk around all the seven square meters.

She looked up at Krasner while sitting on the bed and he approached her, without an ounce of fear that she would just attack him. It happened a few times.

“I’m better.” She said and he caressed her face.

“I’m very much happy to hear that, love.” He said. “Now… I have a gift for you.”

“A gift?” She asked and he nodded, taking a small box from inside his pocket.

“Open it.” she did as she was told and inside the box, was a little square, wrapped in a laminated paper. “Come on. Open it.”
