Simon Fairfax was waiting outside, nervously. Friedrich’s secretary called him and asked him to attend to the company, since her boss had something of greater importance to deal with Mr. Fairfax.

“Just one more moment, sir, Mr. Ashford will receive you soon.”

“Thank you.”

Lucy was still in classes, so she didn’t know her father was there.

When the redhead secretary asked Simon to enter Friedrich’s office, he nodded, took a deep breath and walked to the room.

“Welcome, Mr. Fairfax. Please, sit.”

Brandon asked, motioning to the chair in front of his desk. Simon nodded.

“Hello, Mr. Ashford. Thank you.”

“I’m the one who must show how much I appreciate your presence here.” Brandon said and gave Simon a faint smile. “I believe you, sir, must know about my relationship with your daughter.”
