Reunion

Lucy had spent all those days cloistered in the hotel. She missed Brandon, Gideon, even Chung-hee, but most of all, she missed her freedom.

Following the moment on television when Gideon was released, she felt apprehensive and it was not for less: the shooting only proved that she was right to be afraid. But Lucy saw something else there. Gideon was protecting a woman. Who would she be?

Deputy Sanders was very nice and patient. She felt that she could really trust him, after all, he had ensured her safety until that moment.

The Fairfaxes, with the exception of Rindley, were furious. They tried to leave the city, but the police did not allow it. Sanders warned them that the investigation into how they got Lucinda as a baby was ongoing and they would soon find out the truth.

The bedroom phone rang and Rindley's voice invaded Lucy's ears.

“My God, Lu! How are you?" he asked, concerned. Rindley knew that Lucy had been kept away all this time, including from Brandon.
