Debby appeared suddenly, walking over to the table with a haughty air. Her eyes narrowed as she took in the sight of Tom standing there.

"Well, well," Debby said, her voice dripping with mockery. "Look who’s here. The beggar himself. How quaint." She sneered, her eyes raking over Tom from head to toe.

Lisa’s heart pounded in her chest as she watched them. She had hoped to get away from the situation, but now it was only getting worse.

"Leave him alone, Debby," Lisa said, her voice trembling with anger. "You have no right to talk to him like that."

Debby ignored her, continuing to sneer. "How could you marry someone like that? He doesn’t even belong in a place like this. Does he wipe tables too?" She chuckled darkly.

Lucas let out a sharp laugh, his eyes gleaming with malicious satisfaction.

"He’s just a server here. A waiter, Lisa. Nothing more." He turned to Tom with a smirk. "Tell me, how’s the pay? Do you get a tip for working as the scum of the earth?"

Lisa felt a tight kn

The next morning, Lucas sat slumped on his leather sofa in his oversized living room, his eyes fixed on the TV. The news anchor spoke in a serious tone, reporting updates on The Emperor—Tom Sullivan. Lucas's stomach twisted. He couldn’t shake the memory of Tom’s threat that echoed in his mind: “I’ll make you suffer.” His phone buzzed constantly, and his personal assistant, Trevor, paced the room, his own phone glued to his ear. Every few seconds, Trevor muttered into it before frowning and switching to another call. Finally, Trevor paused for a moment, his face pale as he looked over at Lucas. “Sir… there’s trouble,” he said quietly, glancing at the floor. Lucas exhaled, trying to keep calm. “What now?” Trevor shifted uncomfortably, glancing back at his phone. “It’s the business partners, sir. They’ve all… cut ties. Every single one.” He paused, almost as if bracing himself for Lucas’s reaction. Lucas’s jaw tightened, but he nodded. He’d expected a bit of fallout—but all

You’ve made quite the comeback.” As Tom excused himself to mingle with other guests, a familiar face stopped him. It was Vincen

"Let's have sex," she said matter-of-factly. Lisa stood at the foot of the bed, her hands steady as she let the nightgown fall to the floor until it settled on her feet. The man sitting on the bed barely moved, his eyes unfocused ahead, his body stiff. He didn't glance at her, just sat there, numb, unseen, as if he hadn't even heard her. Lisa drew closer, scrambling onto the bed until her bare skin grazed against his. She settled onto his lap, legs around him. He tensed up; his breathing came shallow, and his eyes darted in quick jitters from her face to the floor. "What-what are you doing?" he stuttered, his hands hovering without surety over her skin for some sort of placement. His face turned beet red, and his voice came out no louder than a whisper. She leaned in, her eyes fixed on his, and told him, "I need you to be a man." He swallowed hard and tried to say just what he needed to. "L-Lisa, I. "Prepare everything for my arrival," Tom said, his voice cold and commanding. The voice at the other end of the line was steady, from Joshua, showing much respect to Tom in silence. "How's everything back home?" Tom asked, pacing the room now. "It's not good, sir" Joshua admitted. "The family's been in chaos since your disappearance. Everyone's fighting to take control, but Gabriel… he's been getting a lot of support." The bitter bile rose in his throat as Tom's jaw clamped down hard. Gabriel, his supposedly trusted brotherly friend, leading the pack to steal his rightful place. That betrayal had rankled deep, though not nearly so much as the outrage of him poisoning Tom's food. His voice barely above a whisper: "Gabriel. that sly rat." Joshua's voice cut in, almost as if sensing Tom’s thoughts. "He’s convinced some of the elders that he’s the rightful leader, but the rest are divided. They’re just waiting for someone strong enough to unite them." Tom clenched his fists. "They’

Tom did not bat an eyelid as he regarded the mocking faces surrounding him. Sharper eyes told of a man that was different from the one they had all belittled. Delilah snorted, looking at him with a smirk. "So you remember who you are but what good is it when you still are a poor man? You don't belong here Tom, not with such a pathetic Level. Tom exhaled and let her words bounce right off him as if it would take a lot to ruffle his feathers. He turned away from Delilah and toward Lisa's grandfather with a respectful tone. "Happy birthday, sir," he said, clear, strong, controlled, silencing the murmurs around them. Delilah's face scrunched in frustration; he wouldn't take her insults and dish them back. The silence had dragged out, and Lisa's grandfather-who was watching the scene before him with narrow eyes-finally raised his hand. "Enough," he said outright-the tone silencing the room. "Everybody, be seated. I have something to say." The guests scurried for their places, leavi

A hooting sound echoed from the rear loud enough to be audible. "She must be nuts. Messing with Bigsharks? Death wish if there ever was one." Still, another murmured in dismay, shaking his head: "Only an idiot would tackle them. Setting herself up to fail." Lisa's mother stood forward, marked with anxious lines and resentment. "Lisa, this is insane!" she admonished. "You think you can just walk in and ask those people for money? You're going to get yourself killed. They were right-it was insane. Her mother rolled her eyes. "I regret ever giving birth to you, Lisa," she spat, cold. Then she turned sharply on her heel, storming out of the room. Delilah watched, trying and failing to conceal a smirk. Delilah's luck simply could not get any better than this. Their grandfather had just s

At GOEXOTIC, the soft sound of a romantic song played , a band strumming gently as a singer's smooth voice filled the air. Candlelight flickering on the table where Lisa and Lucas sat. The waiter stood before them, patiently waiting as they studied the menu. Lucas glanced over at Lisa, his eyes glimmering with interest, but she remained focused, not looking up. After a moment, he broke the silence. "I'll have the salad, crab, and shrimp," he told the waiter, then turned to Lisa. "And a glass of champagne, please." The waiter nodded, then turned to Lisa, who was still deep in thought. After a pause, Lisa finally spoke. "A glass of champagne is fine," she said, setting the menu down. The waiter nodded and left to place the order. Lucas leaned back in his chair, a small smile tugging at his lips. "So," he began, breaking the silence, "Has Tom ever taken you to such an expensive place like this?" Lisa looked up at him, an eyebrow raised. "Is this all about Tom?" she asked, her vo

Lisa took a step back. “No. I won’t divorce him. And if anyone mentions it again, I’ll leave this house right now.” Her voice was final. The room fell silent. Everyone could see she meant every word, and no one dared to push her further. Lucas cleared his throat, putting on a smile. “Alright, Lisa. I promise no one will bring it up again.” He held up his hands, looking around as if to assure everyone. “But… even if you don’t like the idea, how about a little drive with me? Just a short one.” His voice was casual, but the look in his eyes suggested there was more to it. Lisa hesitated, sensing his intent. But before she could answer, the door swung open, and in walked Debby, her longtime friend, looking flustered. She spotted Lucas instantly and rushed over, flashing him a bright smile. “Oh, Lucas! I didn’t know you’d be here!” she exclaimed, practically ignoring everyone else in the room. Tom stepped forward and gave her a polite nod. “Hey, Debby.” But Debby barely loo

The doorbell echoed through the Winchester mansion. Lisa’s mother went to open it, her heart pounding. As she pulled the door open, her heart nearly stopped. Standing there, in a silent but intimidating formation, was the Bigshark gang. “Oh no… this is trouble,” she whispered, her voice shaking. Everyone in the mansion froze, staring at the gang in fear. Faces paled, breaths held. Lisa’s mother stepped back, almost stumbling. “What have they gotten themselves into?” she muttered, watching the gang part to let someone through. As the group stepped aside, they revealed Tom and Lisa, both looking calm, with Delilah trailing behind, her head bowed, expression strained. It was something no one could’ve predicted. Lisa’s grandfather’s eyes narrowed as Lisa and Tom strode into the room. Delilah stayed back. Lisa motioned to the heavy suitcases the Bigsharks were carrying and had them set down in front of her grandfather. “Here’s the money,” she announced, her voice steady. “They eve
