"May I sit?" he asked, and she nodded, moving aside to make space for him. He sat down close to her.

"Thank you for saving me," he said, his voice sincere.

She smiled. "It's nothing. You would have done the same if you were in my shoes."

He murmured, "I was just being stubborn."

Sandra's expression was understanding. "I know it's about your old man, so it's normal to be worried."
