Chapter 164

Marcus got dressed, tucked his gun into the back of his pocket, and stepped out. "Best of luck," Kathrine said, and he smiled, thanking her as he caressed her chin.

With his hands in his pockets, he began to walk away into the cold night. He got into his car, drove off, and parked at the old town junction. Then, he headed into the old town.

When Marcus arrived, he didn't see the man he was expecting. He scanned the area, whistling softly, and then Grey emerged from the shadows. Marcus heard footsteps behind him and turned to see Grey approaching.

"Who are you?" Marcus asked, his eyebrow raised in confusion, knowing this wasn't the man he was supposed to meet.

Grey pulled out a cigarette, took a drag, and stood in front of Marcus, blowing smoke in his face. Marcus waved the smoke away with his hand, his frown deepening.
