The old Mage smiled, amused by the way Nozomu was talking, "Nothing so drastic. It will be as if a door closed, and when it opens, you will be there. The Guild Master already paid for the voyage, so if you go to that empty space there, I can take care of the transport."
Nozomu looked at the circle marked on the floor in front of the building that he didn’t notice when he arrived, but now it was emitting a slight shine as if it was reacting to the key the old Mage had in his hands. Taisetsuna, the Guild Master and the little Takanari were already there, waiting for him. Nozomu made a slight nod to the old Mage and thanked him before joining the others.
Nozomu jolted when the Guild Master pinched his right arm, and he made a deep bow and spoke as he stood straight again, "I am deeply sorry if I made you feel that way, Princess, it was not my intention. I was just surprised. I was imagining you completely different from what I am seeing.""And may I ask how you were imagining me? I am rather curious, and I am not like this very often."Nozomu made a slight smile and spoke while looking around the room, "In such a big and pretty room like this, I was expecting a Princess with a bored look on her face, or one that was making a tantrum because of the tiniest thing, shouting ‘
Takanari quickly took the remaining wands from her pockets and put them on Nozomu’s hands in complete silence. “Go to Suna and don’t open your mouth again! I am being serious here, Takanari Sumomi!”The little girl turned pale and rushed to Taisetsuna as if the effect of the chocolate suddenly vanished, and she was, once again, the shy and cute Takanari that everyone loved. Nozomu approached the stairs and showed the five wands he had, with the three shining buttons, “Takanari brought this from the caves where the Goblins took her and her sister. She grabbed this when they were distracted and the Guil
The corner of Nozomu’s lips made a tiny smile that quickly vanished as he answered, “The Guild rules changed because of that, and for quite some years, an Adventurer can’t be denied to apply to any Quest he desires.”“So that means if our country would be attacked, you and Taisetsuna wouldn’t join our army? What about the people living in this country? Many of them are not able to defend themselves because they lack training, Magic, or strength, while both of you have plenty in those departments.”Nozomu spoke after glancing at Taisetsuna, who made a slight nod, “We wouldn’t joi
Nozomu and his group were seated at a table in a small dining room that a servant guided them into. Small was a matter of speaking because he and little Takanari were looking around, completely blown away by the size of that room. The entire lower level of the Guild would fit in there, with enough empty space around.Taisetsuna took a sip from the glass of water in front of her, and as she was about to say something to the Guild Master, the doors that led them into that room were opened by the old servant who guided them to the Throne Room, and Princess Mere entered, making everyone stand up and bowing at her.As Nozomu stood up again, he didn’t fail to notice that the Princess was wearing a different set of clothes. She was no longer in the shining dress that she was using in the Throne Room, but inste
After lunch, Nozomu and the others followed the Princess to her office, which was right after the Throne Room. In there, a scribe was already waiting, finishing writing a set of papers. He bowed at the Princess and delivered the papers for Nozomu to read, “I finished the contract related to you teaching the Princess’ Cooks, and the licence to other Cities. Please confirm everything and sign at the bottom, over the line.”He then pointed to a small sphere over the Princess’ desk and explained, “After you signed, put your hand over that sphere and infuse it with some Magic. The sphere will record your Magic and everything will be according to the laws.”
Taisetsuna made a huge effort to sound calm, but Takanari felt Taisetsuna squeezing her little hand and flinched, trying not to scream from surprise as Taisetsuna spoke, “He is not, and I am not available to be taken by you or anyone that sounds or resembles like you. You are too pretty for a boy. Were you born a girl and suddenly decided to be a man, or you always looked like that?““Impressed, are you? Well, that is not a surprise. I am the one-day-to-be Viscount Robert Keskula, and I am yet to meet a woman that doesn’t become infatuated by my beauty or my speech. I take great pride in my natural beauty, and I go to enormous lengths to keep looking as good as I do. I don’t mind if you are a commoner or not, because I just love Cat-kind women and their insatiability in a bed.”
After the tea, Princess Mere went in search of Nozomu, to see what he was up to. The entire court followed her along the corridors, in the direction of the kitchen. A servant quickly opened the doors for her, and the Princess entered, and the smell of chocolate being Cooked reached her nose and made her smile.A Cook’s assistant bowed to her, and answering her question about what was happening in there and what was that strange and delicious smell, he guided her along the large kitchen, in the direction of a line of stoves.Taisetsuna was looking around, amazed by the size of that kitchen and the equipment available. In the middle of the kitchen, there was a long counter, with five assistants occupied in several tasks. One was choosing the best looking cocoa seeds, two were turning the seeds into powder, and the others were either filling bowls with cocoa powder or bringing more bags with cocoa seeds. From a door on the left, a servant came with a pushcart full of logs to the stoves,
The Nobles noticed the Princess looking at them with Magic around her, a clear sign that she wasn’t joking, and they immediately gave the gums they were chewing to a Cook’s assistant that went to them, and also gave him the wrapped gums they still had.She left the kitchen in a hurry, with Nozomu running after her. Taisetsuna stayed in the kitchen, dumbfounded by all that had happened. The Guild Master cleaned his forehead from the cold sweat that was piling and he spoke, making every set of eyes look at him, “What about if we went outside to let the Cooks finish things here? The Princess didn’t say it, but I am sure she won’t be pleased if we are still here when she returns.”The Nobles realized he was definitely right and followed a servant that guided them to the garden again.Along their walk, a young Noble approached Robert Keskula and whispered, “Can you imagine what we would be able to do if we managed to put our hands on that? The feats we could do with a group of Beast-kind w
