The Angel System

Abilityless combat

[I am still a beginner so naturally my first chapters may need work, please read until chapter 20 before you consider dropping this work]

The combat hall was just a wide metallic hall with a wide variety of weapons hung on the walls and a wrestling ring in the center.

A guy named Cade Walker, walked up to the arena with a confident aura, like he was very sure he would win.

His steps were filled with elegance and it was clear that he had a trick or two up his sleeves.

Hiro walked up the ring with the grace of a falling rock, the gauntlets were too bulky for him and were a bit heavy but he could manage.

"Are you both ready?" Mr.Jake asked outside the ring.

"Yes," Cade and Hiro said at the same time.

Cade had a similar body structure to Hiro, he was a dark-skinned boy with brown eyes, hair, and lips, if it was a battle of looks, Hiro would have beaten Cade hands down.

"Start," Mr.Jake said in a booming voice.

Cade arrived in front of Hiro the next instant with a fist aiming for his gut, hoping to finish it all in one blow.

Because Cade had an ability he was naturally faster, stronger, and had better senses than regular humans, even though he wasn't using his ability, humans with abilities were far stronger than those without.

Although Hiro didn't have an ability, there was something he had that Cade didn't and that was Angel Energy.

Hiro was able to predict where his fist was going to be before he even moved thanks to his skill, [Eyes of God].

With his skill, Hiro could see a rough image of what Cade was about to do before he could do it, it was almost like he could see a rough drawing of his energy signature

Hiro positioned his hands in such a way that

made him able to grab Cade's fist. ( read that again, Hiro predicted where his fist was going to be thanks to [GOD'S EYES]and positioned his hands there, he didn't move faster than Cade).

Hiro grabbed Cade's fist but the power of Cade's fist was a bit too much for him to handle and he had also calculated this. Hiro wasn't a nerd but he had been into fights as a kid, he thought it could make up for his lack of abilities until the idea was beaten out of him by his peers. But this time Cade wasn't using his abilities so old skills and muscle memory were coming back to Hiro.

Hiro quickly flipped Cade over and slammed him on the floor, using Cade's momentum against him.

[Angel fist] Hiro hit Cade's exposed stomach causing a mini explosion-like sound to ring out.

"Fascinating," Jake said

Mr. Jake had a wide grin on his face, 'Just like I thought was using a weird energy, no wonder I sensed a disturbance when he was looking at me with those eyes of his'. Mr.Jake said under his breath.

Everyone's faces showed expressions of shock, Cade was a level 5 He should be around 5-7 times stronger and faster than a regular human without his ability, but a mere level one who was just as strong as an average human managed to defeat him.

Unknown to the others except for Mr.Jake who could follow the flow of Angel Energy pretty easily, Hiro was using the opponent's speed strength and speed against them.

Hiro managed to win his next fights but they were too weak to give him any EXP.

'And now the finals against our two prodigies HIRO BLISS and MITCHELL CLAWE ' Mr. Jake said.

'Why did that sound like a badly written speech' Hiro thought, before discarding his thoughts and readying himself for the next match, He had used an energy siphon before to get his energy back to 10/10.

Mitchell seemed to be pretty good with the way he held his sword with an aura of experience flowing around him.

Fight

Unlike the rest, Mitchell circled the arena carefully which Hiro mirrored,

[ANGEL FLASH]. Hiro arrived before Mitchell in an instant only to be met with a sword hilt to the gut.

'what is this weird energy Hiro keeps on using, that level of speed should only be possible for a level 1 speed ability user, how come this energy is powerful enough to make his rival that speed'. Mr. Jake thought.

Hiro was sent flying back by Mitchell's attack to the other side of the arena.

he had only 8 points of Angel's energy left which meant two more flashes and two more of Angel's fists were left.

he activated a passive ability that took no Angel energy [Eyes of God].

He was instantly able to sense every energy core again except for Mr.Jake's core which was still pitch black.

'Huh what's this' he thought as he saw a faint mirror Image of Mitchell leaping and arriving before me but his original body was still in place and only just motioned to leap now He grabbed Mitchell's arm as he arrived before me.

‘Looks like I can barely see the future.’ Hiro thought and a smile had appeared on his face.

[ANGEL'S FIST]

He hit Mitchell straight in the face causing his head to fling back and he returned the momentum with a headbutt to his unguarded face pushing him down to the ground on his knees, Mitchell struck Hiro's ribs with his sword causing Hiro massive pain as pain ravaged His entire senses.

[Angel Flash]

Hiro got out of the way of another sword strike aimed at his ribs.

‘I can't get within proximity to him and I have no long-distance attacks.’ Hiro's brain began spinning in high gear as he stood in place with [Eyes of God ] active, Immediately after activating Angel's fist there was always a tiny bit of residual shockwave, so what if he drew out all my Angel energy to his fists, Hiro was deep in thought.

Hiro began prepping his last attack of the match, he felt the Angel energy at his fingertips but Mitchell wasn't going to wait for Hiro he dashed towards me arriving before Hiro in an instant.

[NOW]

Hiro thought and he released the energy from his gauntlets, at point blank range hitting Mitchell straight in the chest leaving ten small but deep claw markshas blastedst due to the claws on the gauntlets.

Mitchell was blasted away HHiro. Theys HHirothey both flew towards opposite ends of the arena, both tired.

Mr Jake arrived before me immediately placing a healing pill in both our mouths, which Healed their body and recovered their energies at a speedy rate.
