Conscious and Confused

***********************

It's just like the system saw through the whole of him, he is entirely worthless, even in the real world.

Sean knew he had to find equipment in this world if he wanted to be safe. The dead man who wrote this note might want to set a trap for him or anyone who checked the freezer.

Sean went to the kitchen and found a knife, he took it and went to the freezer. In fear, he opened the freezer and bent down immediately, he learned this in an action movie. Since he didn't know what was in the freezer, he couldn't just look at it.

Thanks to that, the first that came out of the freezer was a knife. According to the orders her father gave her, the young girl in the freezer strike whatever opened the freezer

"Who are you?"

"I saw your father's note on the table and came here to…"

Sean doesn't know how to finish the statement. He didn't come here to save the girl, he was just doing things randomly

"Are you the one?" The girl asked

"Who"

"My father, he said he will send someone here to save me from the devils. Are you the one?"

"No, I'm…I'm just walking by and I saw the door of this house open so I entered"

Sean flipped the note she took from the table and gave it to the girl

"I saw it on the table"

"My father, did you see him?"

Sean remembered the blood at the door

"Yes, but he is gone, to search for someone that can help us out of this place"

"Are we waiting for the person?"

"No, we are going to meet him. Will you come with me? I can help you"

The girl came out of the freezer"

"Yes"

Sean held the girl's hand and went to the main room. He saw a table with lots of books on it, it is obvious that the father of this girl read a lot.

Reading might help him understand a few things about the place he is in, so he went there. After scanning through the books on the books on the table, he saw a map. It is the map of the city and some places were circled with red ink.

Sean doesn't know if the those places are safe group or dangerous places but the fact that red ink was used made him believe those places can't be safe

It is obvious that the owner of this house is safety conscious, if he is, he probably should have a weapon around; that's if his killer did not rob him of it.

"Can you take me to the store room?"

At least, that is where everyone keeps things like that cutlass or dagger.

After searing the store room, Sean does find a dagger. He kept it somewhere around his waist and hold the kitchen knife in his hand

"My father have a gun in his room"

"He does, then let's go get it"

The girl led Sean to her father's room but what they found there is more than the gun

"I am the Lord of the Fox Faction. I rule all of this." He motions to the forest beyond the bridge. "I would like to invite you into my lands and home."

Trina really hopes Prince Charming has a castle. It figures she has to go to a fictional world to find the perfect man.

"I think I'll stay here," she replied. "In case I can go home."

His eyebrows lift. "Home is Dark Sun Circle?"

"Oh, god, no. Never. From what I know of that place, it's hell."

His brow is furrowed.

She swallows hard. She is not going to cry, at least, not until she is fully convinced this isn't a dream or psychotic break.

"I would encourage you to cross over," he says. "Before Alpha Brutus comes to claim you. We are in need of a priest. You will be safe and protected."

"Priest?" She is thinking hard through her headache to recall what the mission story wrote about the mysterious women that the warriors of this world most times use as warlords to fight other factions.

"Every Alpha-ruler in the realm has heard of your coming. The last priest" he replies. "Come. We have food and clothing to warm you."

It's kind of hard to say no. Trina definitely wasn't a looker and she has never had a man this handsome give her the time of day. While she knows nothing of his little kingdom, she does know that she don't want to be here when the violent Alpha Brutus shows up.

Getting to her feet, she made her way through the grasses to the stone path leading across the bridge. She pull on the medallion wolf-man gave me, just in case.

Just in case WHAT?

She wakes up in another mission? Get lost in the forest?

Nothing is making sense right now, except that she is definitely hungry and could use a blanket or warmer clothing.

"No tricks? Will I be safe?" She ask, pausing when she is close to the man

"You have my word," the Fox Lord responds quickly.

Why not? Maybe this man is the elusive Hero she hadn't yet discovered in the game Or maybe he's the one meant to lead her astray or the Betrayer . . . How the hell does she figure it out?

The panic bubbling within her makes her head pound worse. Whatever she think of the Fox Lord, she at least knows Alpha Brutus will probably behead her if he finds her

She walks and joins the Fox Lord in the middle of the bridge, pausing to gaze up at him. My god - he's utterly beautiful.

"You will need new robes," he observes, gaze lingering on Trina's breasts. "You are in the correct color, but not the correct cloth."

Trina is remembering more details now. The priests of this world wear purple. The color is rare and only the elite seers wear it.

"You are unwell?" the Sigma asks.

"Drank too much wine last night."

"Ah. A common ailment." He waves over one of the three men waiting in the area on the bridge. "Come." He went down his side of the bridge

Trina glanced over her shoulder, noticing for the first time how the mists hanging in the branches of trees on the Dark Sun Circle side of the path are absent in the Fox Faction. There are birds on this side of the forest, and it smells of pine. The forests are different - one alive and one dead - yet divided only by a stream. It's sunny on this side of the stream, too.

This is too weird. She needs time to think or maybe to get rid of her headache first because thinking is too difficult right now.

Trailing the Fox Lord to his own faction, she passes the three guards waiting for him and follows him onto a deer trail. They don't walk far and stop on a rustic road hedged by trees. A shoebox looking, wooden wagon with four horses out front and a driver waits in the middle of the road.

Another guy in white opens the door for the Fox Lord who sweeps off his cape before climbing in. Trina gets in as well and sit opposite him. There's a trunk between the two benches and a lantern hanging from the low ceiling in the center whose light doesn't reach the corners of the wagon.

The wooden benches are covered by pillows. It's warmer here and Trina rubs her upper arms to help warm her

"'Tis a half day ride to my hold," he tells me. "You are hungry?"

She nod.

He taps the trunk. The top slides off as if by magic and he reaches into its depths to lift a tray of food: jerky, cheese, bread, and whole fruit. A pitcher and two stocky goblets are present as well.

Another tap and the trunk slides closed.

"Eat," the Sigma urges her "The moon apple is a specialty of my lands." He holds up a white apple.

"Thanks." Trina accepts it and puts it on her lap. She is not much of one for apples. Bread, though, is her weakness, as evidenced by her thighs, and she grab a piece. "You said you've been waiting for me?"

"Priests are rare. The alpha-rulers of our realm are sent visions or dreams when a new one is to come," he explains with another charming smile. "Alpha Brutus has been eyeing my lands for many years. We are at peace, but I'd like to be ready."

What should she say to that?

"I don't blame you," she replied awkwardly. She takes a huge bite of bread and then a sip of wine. The bread is dry and hearty, the wine a little stronger than she's used to.

The carriage jolts into movement and she rocks back, catching herself on a pillow.

"His was recently killed," he adds. "I know he is looking for a new one."

"What happened to yours?" I ask.

" The fate for any priest is being captured by an enemy. Deflowering and death. But mine died of old age since there has been no war in years."

"Deflower? You mean rape?"

"Rape or seduction. Most priests are young like you and fall for a handsome alpha who brings them flowers. I barter such services to any kingdom that needs it. It's how my coffers stay filled with gold and I stay on good terms with all."
