CHAPTER 231

After leaving the ancestral home, Elliott stood

outside and looked back at it, lost in thought.

Suddenly, a police siren sounded anda law

enforcement vehicle stopped in front of him. Two law

enforcement officers got out of the car and

approached Elliott, scanning him up and down

before asking, "We received a report that someone

trespassed into the Loic family ancestral home. Was it

you?"

"It was me!" Elliott admitted truthfully.

"Do you know that the Loic family ancestral home is a

forbidden area in White County? Without orders

from above, no one is allowed to approach, let alone

enter. You have violated the ban, so please come with

us, the officers said.

Upon hearing this, Elliott became angry. "Violated

the ban? What ban? I came home to pay my respects

to my ancestors. Which of the laws of the Great Gunnar

have I violated?" he retorted.
