During dinner, Shannon addressed her parents' preference for Finn and the tension it had created.

Shannon, carefully choosing her words: "Mom, Dad, I know you've taken a liking to Finn because he shares our Irish heritage, but I need you to understand that my heart belongs to Dax. He's my husband, and I love him deeply."

Seamus, somewhat reluctantly: "Shannon, we only want what's best for you."

Maureen, trying to bridge the gap: "We appreciate that Dax has embraced our traditions, but there's something special about Finn being Irish through and through."

Shannon, firmly but with love: "I'm asking you to give Dax a fair chance. He's shown nothing but respect and dedication to me and our family."

Her parents exchanged glances and finally relented.

Seamus, grudgingly: "We'll try, Shannon. But we can't help feeling that Finn is the ideal match."
