Tydeus immediately took his attention to Artecus, he seemed to be the only one asking too many questions. And his questions were all shaping towards something.

He definitely won't know what happened the night before, he was asleep with the others. Tydeus thought he could explain the situation to his friends but where would he even start from?

“Perhaps I know what could cheer the big guy up. Do you still have some of those grape wines left, Sakoh? Artecus asked Sakoh quickly.

“Yes! And I think you're right. Perhaps the sweet wine could cool his mind”, Sakoh said as he passed the jar of wine to Artecus.

Artecus furtively brought out a different cup which wasn't on the table before; it was such a lustrous cup; maybe the aesthetics of the cup would also invigorate Tydeus's mood.

Artecus quickly filled the cup with the wine and passed it to Tydeus, but Tydeus remained unresponsive. It was as if his mind was not even with them at all.

“Take the drink, Tydeus. It's a very refreshing one, yo

“Is Tydeus already going to collect our fee from the king?” Sakoh asked Rakeh curiously as the soldier took Tydeus further into the distance.“I hope so. If anything happens to our payments then the king should better be preparing for trouble”, Rakeh replied to Sakoh“What do you mean? What has the King said about our fee? And what did Tydeus just tell you now before he left?” Sakoh asked again fastidiously.“He told me something that will never happen”, Rakeh replied sarcastically.“You're sounding like we are going to be having a payment problem. Tell me I'm wrong”, Sakoh said to Rakeh again curiously.“That's why I said, the king might need to be preparing for trouble”, Rakeh gave another sarcastic reply as he picked and bit another chicken meat from his plate“Not just any trouble, but big trouble. I mean, after almost killing ourselves on the broken bridge, fighting adventurously in the Valley, saving the boy from the Cytorex and eventually completing the mission…”“We aren't sti

I don't just fight for gold. I fight to make things right”, Tydeus countered King Nezeron audaciously.“Really? Heroes fight for glory, but hitmen fight for gold, have you forgotten you told me that?”“Listen Tydeus, we have all known your legend. Tydeus, the great warrior of Egypt, the only one who killed Apophis with his bare hands. That's yours, but here is mine…”, King Nezeron continued as he stood up gently and leaned on his table, going eyeball-to-eyeball with Tydeus.“When I once ruled this nation, I had dreams of making this land something more than just a country, something that would sever the weak from the strong”“Something that would give Egypt the true honour and supremacy it deserves, something that would make this land grow and dominate the other nations of the world”“But my dreams have be

Tydeus was literally on a dead spot; he had himself outnumbered one to twenty, with his neck threatened by the tips of twenty spears. Only a stab from one of the guards could send him to join his ancestors within the blink of an eye.Tydeus clenched his fists angrily, his veins had started to protrude from his skin, threatening to burst out if he didn't cool off. He took his face around him and observed the guards; they were filled with so much vigour, at least they had their spears aiming for his neck. One of the guards, as he realized Tydeus wouldn't yield but do something stupid, immediately brought his spear closer, trying to stab Tydeus's neck from behind. But Tydeus was smart enough to notice him and as the soldier came close enough, Tydeus dodged the stabbing impact of the spear and lifted the guard like a piece of wood over his head. The King became shocked instantly; probably, scenes that happened in the Valley Of Bones flashed into his mind. The rest of the guards tried to

The only way to keep a prisoner for life and make sure he doesn't escape is to prevent him from knowing he is in prison. The question is, how will the people of Giza understand that they have been enslaved by a tyrant? The sun had started to rise again, and the dawn notified the people about a new day. But the brightness in the sky was a little dim; it was as if the firmament was trying to indicate an omen for anyone who could understand.Tydeus struggled to lift his eyelids. The sun darted its beam into his eyes from a small opening in his front, threatening to damage his iris; he immediately closed his eyes and tightened them.He thought of scratching his eyelids with his fingers but he couldn't feel his arms. He managed to open his eyes again, but the view around him was very blurry and hazy; he couldn't capture the image of his surroundings clearly. He began to hear indistinct chatters coming from behind him and above him. He vigorously writhes his head to get himself fully awake

Two other guards ran to the inner part of the dungeon, a dark and eerie area with a big hole covered by a large stone. They began to push the heavy stone away to open the mysterious hole for whatever was inside to come out. They kept pushing and pushing, groaning like they were trying to lift a ship, but they couldn't move the stone. Another two guards in the dungeon quickly went and helped them to push the big stone off the rim of the mysterious hole and after a while, they were able to roll the stone and the hole was left open. One of the guards quickly ignited a wood and threw it into the hole, and instantly, a loud rumbling noise from the hole vibrated the walls of the dungeon. The guards immediately ran away from the hole to the centre of the dungeon to secure their king. “Scorpiodon? What the heck is that?” Sakoh asked Rakeh, his voice covered in confusion. “I have no idea, but I think it should be…” *BONG! BONG!! BONG!!!* A dull banging sound occurring in patterns like

I'm creeping out right now. I feel like vomiting”, Apphathorus replied fearfully“Oh well, you can do that after we make it outside. As you can see this place is really dark and eerie. We are left to find the stones now”, Tydeus said, taking a closer look at the materials on the floor; they looked like dry bones of humans or perhaps animals. “Where could they be now?”“You have the map with you isn't it?” Tydeus cut in“Yeah?”“Then make use of it; where are we supposed to get the stones before something comes at us?” Tydeus asked Apphathorus sharply. “Uhm, This is what it says. We are supposed to…”“Hey watch it! Don't touch anything. Be careful!” Tydeus quickly informed as he saw Apphathorus almost resting on some of the creepy materials near the wall.“Oh, don't worry about me being careful; I mean, I was

The rain had started to drizzle and the breeze blowing ominously, the trees had started to dance like horrible masquerades making the entire atmosphere in the jungle tense and creepy, but it seemed these two risk-takers were already getting used to the nature around these paths but they might just be making their way to the most dreadful part of all. Apphathorus and Tydeus, whilst still leaping with his stick, arrived at a wide spot under a big tree in the forest after a long walk, both of them started to gaze at the surroundings, trying to observe where they had gotten to. “Are we lost? Tydeus asked his voice sharp.“I think that's not the right word to use because we have been lost since we made our way into this jungle. But talking about ‘misplaced’, I think we…” Apphathorus was saying as he took another look at his map to study it again. “Oh no! Now we have to go back, we have been walking in the wrong route!” He said with a tone of disappointment.“Really? Let me see that” Ty

Apphathorus's heart had started to drum in his chest, cold sweat trickling down his old, weak face as he awaited what would come out of the bush in the fog. But from afar, he saw something different; he was expecting to see the form of a monster or another hideous beast. Instead, he saw the form of a human, or maybe it was a monkey. He squinted his eyes to see who or what was coming behind the fog, every movement of his eyes begging it to be a human. He continued to focus his sight on the apparition in his front until he began to scream, “Help! Help!! Is anyone there?! Is anyone…” He halted his noise instantly as he saw what was coming out of the fog clearly. It was like a human being leaping with a walking stick coming in his direction. “Everybody in the forest can't be walking with a stick, except one person. But is it possible?” His thought swirled his brain as he continued to focus his gaze on the person coming his way. “No way!” he mumbled in shock with his eyes widened like

Gnashing his teeth together and pulling with all his strength, the monster wasn't still moving, not even a bit. Still trying to do the impossible, he remembered how he broke down the gigantic gates of the Iron Fortress, but that was nothing to be compared to a three-headed beast with terrific size. The monster mockingly relaxed its body, waiting to see the magic this little human being is about to perform; perhaps it could get entertained for a while before it finally swallows him. With all his veins protruding from under his skin and his face tightened intensively, Tydeus continued to prove his bravery- or stupidity. He pulled with every last fibre left in his being, but the monster was only moving in his mind. The thoughts of his brothers, Rakeh and Sakoh, flickered through his mind like ghosts, trapped within the cold, unforgiving confines of the King's prison. He could almost hear their silent pleas, yearning for his strength, hoping he would come to their aid.Urshuz, hopeless i

Caught in the tangled webs of his predicaments, Tydeus wrestled with his vague awareness of his surroundings. It was then that an unexpected breeze brushed against his skin, stirring him from his struggles. With a sudden jolt, he twisted around and was startled to discover that he lay precariously at the very edge of a towering cliff. The realization sent shivers down his spine as he crawled closer to the precipice, compelled by a mix of fear and curiosity. Peering over the edge, his breath caught in his throat. Below him lay an abyss of jagged trenches, their depths obscured by shadows. Massive, sharp rocks jutted out at odd angles, resembling the jagged teeth of a Dinosaur lurking beneath the surface. He faced the monster again as it continued to come closer, but he still hadn't gotten any idea. Perhaps the despair in his mind had clouded his thinking so badly. Suddenly, the last words he said on Isis' grave flashed in his mind. “I will kill Nezeron for you, Isis” his head rang li

The three-headed leviathan, which had no iota of pity, rammed into the log all with all its three heads, pushing both Tydeus and a massive log out of its way. And with such a merciless impact, Tydeus was projected into the sky. For a second, he noticed he couldn't breathe. The altitude from where gravity intercepted his projection to the ground level made his heart jerk in his chest. He immediately closed his eyes and covered his face with his elbow before he fell ruthlessly to the ground, landing him many contusions. The three-headed monster, unshaken, writhed all its head of the dust from the log, trying to get sight of its prey again, but it never saw Tydeus. It continued to roar powerfully, shaking the entire jungle but still didn't see its prey anymore. Tydeus lay under the root of a big tree full of thorns; he dragged himself onto the root perfectly to hide from the monster. His eyes fell on his arm which had started to bleed heavily, with bruises all over his body.He sorrowfu

With every one of his muscles vibrating involuntarily, Tydeus's stick dropped from his hands in bewilderment at what was in his front. He let out a deep, sharp gasp as his hands went behind him, looking for what to hold on to.The creature gnarled again with a deep low noise from one of its heads. Yes, one of its heads because Tydeus also had now realized that Apophis was only child's play and the Scorpion, maybe an insect to what he was seeing before him. With its hideous hide, a patchwork of rugged scales like swords protruding out of its body, four magnanimous limbs that looked like mountains each extended with massive claws, the Leviathan's body covered the surroundings like an embodiment of primordial horror and dread.Having its triple commodiously scary heads towering with formidable horns twisted and curled, the colossal beast stretched its monstrous tail filled with rocky spikes that ran up to its vertebra and snarled at the two human prey in front of it.Apophis was actuall

“If you remember, I told you last time in the prison that the Iron Mask captured me because they accused me of stealing a map that contains the road to a treasure from them, do you remember?” Apphathorus asked. “Uhm, yeah, you said it was a treasure hidden in the Forest of Shadows, and if you find it, you can use it to save your people”, Tydeus replied.“Yes, Exactly. And that is what I have come into this jungle to find before I was trapped here”, Apphathorus explained. “Why not? You must really be crazy to come into this cursed forest in search of some treasure. What makes you think you're going to make it out of here alive? Your witchery?”“My science!” Apphathorus quickly countered Tydeus with a strict tone. “Oh, I see. Well good luck to you on your search for your pissant treasure”, Tydeus replied as he started to turn back again. “If you had the opportunity to make one wish and what you wished for no matter what it is, will be granted immediately, would you consider that as
