"I farted," James replied, trying to make up an excuse about why he had to leave earlier.

Mia looked at him with an incredulous expression. "Farted? Seriously?" asked Mia, still with a suspicious look.

James felt awkward. He knew Mia was still suspicious of him, and he didn't know what he should do to convince her.

"If it's just a fart, why does it have to be so far away?" asked Mia again, still incredulous.

James shrugged his shoulders, "I was afraid of the smell. I'm embarrassed, because I think my stomach is hurting so the wind will smell really bad."

"Well, we'd better get home. I'm afraid your stomach pain has gotten worse," Mia said, feeling worried for her husband.

"Okay," James replied. He quickly opened the car door, allowing his wife to get in first. After Mia got in, he turned halfway around, opening the door on the steering wheel for himself.
