A Busy Day

James could probably just walk away as if he didn't care about Sofia. However, her anger was still so great. Sofia's beauty is no secret. She has an appeal that cannot be ignored, and she knows how to capitalize on it. In a fit of rage and wanting revenge, she decides to use her charm to persuade Max to speed up their engagement plans. Sofia is no ordinary girl to be toyed with so easily. She has honorable origins as the daughter of a well-known food and beverage (F&B) business owner in Florida, which is not to be underestimated and Max agrees with that.

A meeting of the two families has been agreed upon and an engagement date has been set.

Sofia had printed out the invitations and she was ready to embarrass James in return. She called James asking for a meeting and James, who was not busy at the time, agreed to meet her.

"Take this invitation for yourself!" she said in a loud and stern tone.

James read the invitation and sarcastically commented, "Wow, are you really going to marry that cowardly man?"

Sofia wasn't going to let a comment like that ruin her plans. "Stop insulting Max!" she retorted loudly. "You're just jealous that my future husband is the son of a deputy director at a famous hospital, while you-you have nothing, in fact you're just unemployed!"

But James was unfazed by Sofia's insults. He calmly declared that he would come to the engagement party.

Sofia, in an attempt to add insult to injury, said in a dismissive tone, "Since Max and I are well aware of your condition, you don't need to bother bringing a gift for our engagement party."

James looked at Sofia with a calm and confident gaze. "Don't worry, Sofia. I'll bring a special gift for you," he said in a low but clear voice.

Sofia just sighed with pent-up frustration. "Humh, whatever you say, James!" She didn't want to spend any more time arguing. With heavy steps, she walked away from James and moved towards her car, leaving James behind.

Meanwhile, James just smiled to himself, a complicated and thoughtful smile. In his heart, he felt sorry for Sofia, who was stuck with Max Peeter who James considered a cowardly man.

Back in his apartment, James was greeted by the cheerful voice of his virtual assistant, Freya. "Welcome, sir!" greeted Freya energetically.

"Humh," muttered James briefly, his heart still overwhelmed by the encounter with Sofia earlier. The man didn't seem to be in the best of spirits. However, the delicious smell of cooking soon caught his attention. "What are you making, Freya?" he asked.

"Pancakes, Sir," Freya replied in a proud tone. "I'll prepare them for you, so you can taste them."

"Okay," James replied, agreeing to Freya's offer who always knew how to cheer him up.

Freya went to the back for a while to set everything up on the dining table. Shortly after, she informed James that the pancakes were ready and asked him to sit at the dining table.

James appreciated his virtual assistant's efforts.

"Tada!" exclaimed Freya excitedly. "My special pancakes are ready to eat."

James could only chuckle at Freya's behavior, which was always full of surprises and fun, never failing to keep him entertained amidst the hustle and bustle of his life.

"Come, Sir," Freya invited in an inviting voice. James sat down, and Freya began to deftly prepare everything.

"Have a taste," Freya said, giving James room to savor her homemade treats.

James nodded and began tasting the warm, fluffy pancakes. Freya waited in anticipation, her eyes twinkling as she waited for James' reaction.

After James swallowed his first mouthful, Freya asked hopefully, "How is it, Sir, does it taste good?"

James seemed satisfied with the dish in front of him. "Okay, it's good, Fre. You're pretty good at making food," James praised with a smile.

Freya, with an overflowing spirit, asked in an excited tone, "Sir, do you want to raise my rating?"

"Of course," James replied as he opened the system panel with deft hand movements. "Thank you, Sir," Freya said with gratitude on her face.

James continued to enjoy his meal, but Freya, with her keen eyes, immediately noticed something left on the living room table. "Sir, what is it?" asked Freya curiously.

James turned his head, "Oh, it's the engagement invitation of my ex-girlfriend, Sofia Martinez."

Freya didn't miss the opportunity to mock a little, "Uh, you're left out," she said in a lighthearted tone.

"Ha-ha," James responded with a half laugh. "I already don't care about her."

"That's good, Sir. You can get a better woman," Freya continued, trying to cheer him up.

James nodded, "Yeah, I don't care about her anymore. But, the problem now is that I have to attend Sofia's invitation without knowing what to wear."

Freya thought, sometimes this James still often forgets that he has a power system that can help him solve many problems. "Sir, you just need to assign Julian to find a suitable suit for you. Why are you still dizzy?"

James who was munching on pancakes just realized that he had a reliable assistant in this matter. Good thing Freya reminded him.

After James ate all the pancakes made by Freya, he immediately contacted Julian. He asked his assistant to come to his apartment immediately. Julian has now found a place to stay that is close to James' residence.

It only took Julian a few minutes to arrive at James' apartment. When the apartment door opened, Julian immediately entered the room with the aura of professionalism he always carried and immediately faced James.

"What do you need, Sir?" he asked, in a tone that indicated a readiness to serve.

James turned to Julian. "I need you to help me buy a suit that I can wear to Sofia's engagement ceremony," he said.

Julian nodded. "Of course, Sir. Is there a particular style or color you'd like?" Julian started to pull out his cell phone, ready to jot down details or maybe even place an online order directly from the chosen clothing store.

James walked over to the window, looking out for a moment, as if seeking inspiration from the darkening horizon. "Something elegant but not too flashy," he replied finally. "I trust your fashion sense, Julian. Choose the best."

"Well, Sir, I'll get some suits for you," Julian said in a calm and determined tone. "But, why don't you go with me? You can choose the suit that suits you."

Incidentally, at the moment James was not in the mood to go anywhere. Moreover, the System also kept warning him to develop the power to increase his healing power.

"You go," James refused. "Pick me the best one, I'll wait for you."

Julian respected James. With confidence and the responsibility given to him, Julian accepted the shopping card from James and prepared to leave.

After Julian left, James went to his room.

In James' room, the system was switched on. The walls of the room were filled with interactive touch screens and various devices to control the virtual environment where James was practicing.

[Welcome, Sir. Today your task is to train physically to improve your skills.]

[Today, you must practice increasing your reaction speed]

"Alright, let's start with the reaction time simulation," James replied, and instantly, the room turned into a challenging virtual arena.

Objects kept coming, colorful, with varied shapes and speeds filling the virtual space around James.

Although James tried hard to keep up with the constant stream of objects with varying colors and speeds, he still struggled to achieve the necessary speed. He moved with great intention, but the balance between his eyes and hands was not yet achieved. James was still unable to do so and one of the virtual objects slammed into his face, injuring his forehead.

The training session ends, James' breath is running out and he realizes he's lost.

The system gave an analysis: [Response to attacks, slow. God points not added, low level.]

James cut off contact with the system and his room returned to normal as usual. sweat flooded the man's body. Unable to bear it, James took off his clothes, at the same time Freya opened the door to the room and peeked at James' sweaty body.

"Sir?" She shyly called out to him. Although only a virtual assistant, Freya was still a woman.

"Freya?" James, who was surprised by the sudden appearance of the woman, was a little reluctant because he was currently shirtless. "What are you doing here?"

"I just wanted to ask if I could turn on the TV?" Freya said.

James snorted softly. "Next time you want to come into my room you should knock first."

Freya grinned. "Sir, I knocked. But, you didn't answer. It was too noisy inside, I thought something bad had happened. I'm sorry if I had the audacity to open your door without permission."

James couldn't be mad at Freya.

"Huh, Sir!" Freya pointed to James' forehead. "Your forehead is bleeding!"
