The Awesome Comeback Of The Lost Prince

The Start

The look of determination and strong power for revenge on Nathan's face came as a surprise to everyone standing in the living room. They were shocked by his sudden switch of emotions, he switched from being vulnerable by remembering his so-called mother's sudden and horrible death, to that of a strong-willed young man who was ready to face anything for justice.

The fear from Alex's face cleared off as he saw the readiness on his nephew's face.

“ It wasn't difficult to convince him after all”, he thought.

He looked at Meghan’s face, then he gave a sigh of relief. His initial thoughts were the time it would take them to convince Nathan, but everything went well.

He readjusted his position on his seat, then he faced Nathan, eyeball to eyeball. His face was drained from any emotions and the pain he felt for years was evident. As he wanted to talk, his voice was coarsed, so he cleared his throat.

“ I know you want revenge and justice for Martha's death, but this mission was more huge than what you envisioned. This is a revenge on the sorcery kingdom’s enemies as a whole. And don't forget, it's a revenge on the people who denied you a life of affluence and wealth. It will be tougher as we go deeper, are you sure you are ready for this?” Alex asked for clarification.

He watched Nathan's face as he kept quiet. Although he knew Nathan was ready, he wanted to be sure he wouldn't chicken out at any slight opportunity in the future.

At the question of his uncle, Nathan's face displayed an evil smirk, then he smiled;

“ You might have underrated me because I didn't grow up in the palace or as a warrior. Don't undermine the bitterness that fuels the heart of a son that wants justice for his mother. Martha might not have given birth to me, but she was the only one I acknowledged as my mother and she will forever be my mother. I remembered nothing about Queen Lilly, as she was never a mother figure in my life. Moreover, there are some things Martha taught me and it would be discovered in the long run. Be rest assured that I won't back out, when I said I'm ready, there is no going back on my words. Trust me uncle; guide me, then I will follow your lead.” Nathan answered bravely.

Alex felt more proud as he heard him, 

“ This is Lucas talking, he had never been scared of anything. Like father like son” He murmured to himself.

“ We won't only capture the enemies, but we will expose their sins to the world. They are people of high authority and ranks, so it will be difficult to bring them down without any preparation. We need knowledge, resilience, strong power and tactics to deal with them. From what I gathered from Meghan here, I learnt you studied Business administration in the university, am I right?” Alex questioned.

“ Yeah, I wanted to choose the science option in high school, then studied medicine or pharmacy, but a day before my registration, a man came to visit my mother, so she insisted I choose the social sciences option. I was devastated, but I wanted to make my mother happy, so I agreed with her. Right then and there, my destiny of being a business analyst was decided” Nathan answered.

Alex smiled at his explanation and was confused at the same time. 

“ Choosing a major rated to your father's would have disrupted our plans, but thank goodness you choose business administration instead. About the man that came to visit Martha, how long has he been visiting and do you know his name?” He asked. He knew Martha's movement from place to place might not be carried out alone, she would have a backup.

Nathan squeezed his face as if he was trying to remember something, “ Hmmm, I don't know his name, but mom usually referred to him as ‘my lord’. He always came to every place we moved to and he provided us with everything we needed. He made sure we never lack anything, in fact he paid for my education. He had been supportive financially and he gave mom different warnings, but I was surprised at his disappearance,few months to mom's death though”

Alex became restless as he heard the last statement, “ He disappeared? Do you know why?” He wanted to gather some information about his suspicions.

Nathan shook his head in response, “ I don't know the reason behind his disappearance. But one of his warnings to my mom was to make sure I retain the name, ‘ Nathan Bright’, I never knew I was an Armstrong blood.” He replied.

Alex scratched his head, then he gritted his teeth, “ Can you recognise him when you see him?” He asked another question.

“ Nope, he always covered his face whenever he visited,” Nathan answered vaguely.

A loud bang was heard and the table in the living room broke into pieces. Alex's face was red with fire and his breathing increased.

“ Shit! Shit!That bastard hides well. Who is this anonymous person? What was his damn mission? Was he trying to protect the prince or did he have other evil plans? How is it difficult for me to track him for the past twenty two years? How?” He punched the wall beside him as he stood up abruptly.

Everybody in the room flinched at his outburst, except Nathan who was watching him with undivided attention.

“ Why is he angry at the person who helped my mom and me?” Nathan wondered.

After some time, Alex calmed down, then he turned to Nathan, “ I'm sorry for my behavior, pardon my manners. I'm sure we will know him one day. Let's not digress from our main discussion. I want you to join my oil and gas company as one of the high ranking officials, but you will have to undergo a rigorous two-week professional business training before you join. Since you are a business major and you have an excellent academic record in school, I'm sure it will be easy for you to learn and climb the ladder effortlessly. Can you do that?” Alex asked, then he sat down waiting for Nathan's reply.

Nathan's eyes lightened up, then he smiled happily, “ How did you know I have always wanted a professional knowledge and certificate? This has always been my dream for years. I will be diligent and perform beyond your expectation, sir. Wow! This is a great opportunity for me, thank you”, he wanted to hold Alex’s hand in appreciation, but he hesitated. He didn't know if his action would fuel his uncle’s anger. Although he didn't flinch when Alex flared up, he didn't want a repeat of his episode.

Alex moved closer to draw him for a hug,

 “ Please don't hesitate to be free with me, I will never hurt you, I promise.” 

After the hug, he patted Nathan's shoulder, “ Since being a professional businessman is your dream, I will be glad to fulfill them. Then let's get started” He announced.
