Chapter 3

Clinton came out of the Divorce court with an emotionless face, he wore a black suit and looked so hot in the afternoon sun. He lifted his left hand and checked the time.

It was 1:00pm already. He had been at the court since 11am. Marie actually divorced him, he shook his head and smiled.

The door suddenly opened behind him and Marie came out with her hand clinging to James’s arm. She intentionally hit him by the arm when she passed by him.

She gave him a mischievous smile and he smirked at her.

She hissed and faced him, “Today is the happiest day of my life you know Clinton, I can finally live a good life afterall”.

“Here’s your stupid ring”, with this she brought out a silver ring and stared at it, “you couldn’t even afford a good ring”, she said mockingly and she threw the ring in his face.

James laughed and pull Marie to himself, he hugged her and gave her a kiss right in front of Clinton. “Hey, Marie , leave him alone, besides you’re mine now babe”, he said, kissing her again.

Clinton didn’t even bother to pick the ring, he looked away in disgust and wondered what was keeping his Uber driver. He was to meet a certain Shane Dapper at the company.

He checked his phone and saw that the driver was 10 minutes away, he was a bit annoyed because Marie and James were getting on his nerves.

But he didn’t want to show them that their actions affected him, he just wanted to leave as soon as possible.

James led Marie towards a Maybach Exelero that was packed in front of the building , she beamed with smile and wanted to make sure Clinton saw it.

“Hey, ex husband, you can never achieve this till you die, you’ll just keep dreaming”, “why are you standing there, don’t you have deliveries to do??, uhh delivery boy” , she said mockingly.

Clinton clenched his fists but didn’t say anything, he checked his phone again and saw that the driver was still five minutes away, he put his phone back in his pocket and tried to distract himself.

He knew Marie wanted to embarrass him and make him feel less, but he was happy that he got to know the kind of woman she was before he got reinstated.

When he first met Marie, she charmed him with her humble, smart and industrious personality. Besides, Marie is a very beautiful woman.

She was 5’7 , had a straight,long brown hair and brown eyes,heart shaped lips that would make you want to kiss her on the spot, a beautiful smile that would make hearts melt in seconds, her skin was pale and she had a nice shape, moderate sized boobs and curvy hips that accentuated her slim waist, long legs that made men drool when she walked.

All in all, she was a sexy woman, Clinton sighed, he wasn’t surprised that she ended up with James. James had had his eyes on her since their second year of Marriage.

He first disguised as a friend but Clinton didn’t think they would ever indulge in something like that because he trusted his wife with his life.

Now it’s over, he didn’t think he could trust anyone again after his wife’s betrayal. He brought his thought to the present and saw a car approaching. 

It was a Bugatti la voiture Noire, passersby stopped to stare and wondered who owned such an expensive vehicle. 

Some people took pictures while others stared in awe, Marie was about to sit in James car when she saw it, she was shocked and wondered who could be this wealthy in their city.

She also took pictures and waited for the car to pack, she saw that the car was coming towards them so she waited out of curiosity.

Suddenly the car pulled into the space behind James car , while trying to park, it hit his rear light and it shattered, James shouted in horror.

He closed the door he had opened for Marie earlier and marched towards the car angrily, he started knocking on the window of the car for the owner to come out.

“Look at what you’ve done to my car, do you know how much I purchased it, you have to fix this and pay for damages, or else I’m going to sue you”. He became more angry when the person didn’t wind down the window so he continued knocking on it.

Suddenly the car door opened, hitting unsuspecting James on the nose, he winced in pain and looked up to see who it was.

A beautiful brownskinned young  lady stepped out, she had a straight, long jet black hair, she wore a beautiful v-necked Turquoise dress that screamed Luxury and accentuated her shape.

She used her handkerchief to clean the spot James had been knocking on and applied sanitizer, then she looked at him with disgust from head to toe and walked past him towards Clinton.

Clinton was looking at the scene from afar and when he saw who it was, he smiled and walked towards her.

She jumped into his arms and hugged him tightly with tears welling up in her eyes.

“I’ve missed you brother”, Cindy said. Clinton patted her back gently and they slowly disengaged from the hug. “You’re so grown now”, Clinton said looking at her in admiration.

Cindy smiled and looked at her brother adoringly,”I have looked forward to this moment for so long brother, I heard about everything that happened”.

“And I’m glad you found out at the right time, I came back as soon as I heard that you had been reinstated, I took the night flight so I could congratulate you”. She said with a smile.

Meanwhile , Marie was watching all of these from afar and wondered who the mysterious lady was, because she had never seen Clinton with any other woman apart from herself.

She was curious and wanted to know how the lady was related to Clinton, she noticed they seemed very close with the way she hugged him.

Clinton had never spoken about having a family member or a close friend or acquaintance, she had always known him to be a lone wolf.

James was still furious about the damage on his car  caused by Cindy, he walked towards the reunited siblings, he wasn’t going to leave without the damage being paid for.

“Hey woman, you have no respect whatsoever, I don’t care who you are, pay for the damages or I’m going to deal with you in a very serious way.

Marie too ran to his side, and pretended to support James so she could find out Clinton’s relationship with the lady. “Yes Lady, and Clinton, tell this lady here to apologize right now so My darling James can forgive her.”

“And Who are you??”, Cindy asked with a look of disgust, “why are you interrupting us, can’t you see we’re busy, are you guys dumb”?? 

“Who is this Clinton and why are you talking to us like that, weren’t you taught how to respect your elders, you damaged my man’s car and instead of you to kneel and apologize, you’re asking us stupid questions??”, Marie said angrily.

“Is it because of this cheap car that you’re shouting like a an uncultured person??”, oh please, I can buy ten of your stupid Maybach in seconds, She said rolling her eyes.

“Really???, you poor brat! , look at who you’re dating, Clinton is just a delivery guy, I’m sure he lied to you too, he is poor okay , he can never afford a Maybach, so stop your nonsense and apologize right away”, Marie said exasperated.

Clinton was annoyed and done with Marie’s drama, “ Marie, this is my sister!, and stop your drama, it’s enough, okay”!. 

“Your sister??”. Marie scoffed, “oh stop lying Clinton, I know you so well, hmm, Iknow what is going on, you went to hire her and a luxurious car just to make me feel jealous. Wow, I’m amazed Clinton”.

“I never thought you could stoop so low, well if that was your plan, it’s not working okay, just pay her and tell her to apologize for the damage so James can let it go”

“I’m sure you have to work for 6 months to pay for renting this car, because I know how broke you are, I understand tho, you’re trying to impress me,and I don’t blame you, I’m quite the price”, Marie said proudly.

Cindy was annoyed already by her statement,”oh shut it Marie, you think I don’t know who you are and what you did, you whore, who gave you the right to speak to me”

“You’d better leave here this minute and stop embarrassing yourself, you have no idea what I can do to you”, Cindy said grimly.

“I know what you’re trying to do okay, you guys are trying to make me fall for your lies, and it won’t happen okay, I’m with James now and I’m sticking to him for life, you guys are just shameless”. Marie added holding James hand.

Cindy rolled her eyes and faced her brother, “Let’s go brother, I can’t stand the sight of these two anymore”.Clinton nodded and they headed towards the car as James and Marie looked on.
