He fluttered his lashes and let out a groan, his body aching with pain. Everything was appearing faint to him as he was subconscious of where he was.
His curious hands examined his body, his eyes gazed at the clear skies, it took a while for his vision to become lucid as all that rang in his mind was possibly he was at the gates or heaven and waiting for his judgement.
Alex coughed and managed to rise from the rocky ground which looked like a laid bed for him. It got him perplexed that he was the only one found in this landscape.
The sun had risen brightly and had rested on his forehead which made his skin itch with irritations.
"I survived?" He muttered asking himself because it was hard to believe that he survived the storm.
His eyes studied his hands and feet, they were having some changes, mostly that his legs looks taller. He shoved over the thoughts that the sea must have erase his sense of observation and when his vision becomes clearer, he would discover that he was himself.
The puzzled lad peered his eyes around, and realized he was at the sea shore which meant he was alive and the water must have wash towards the shore.
This could mean two facts which was either he was save or not because he could tell this might be a remote part of the city.
He attempted to stand to his feet but felt weak which made him let out a groan.
"Am I crippled?" He asked himself gazing at his legs but then his assumptions was interrupted when he heard a feminine voice yelled from a distance.
"We found him!"
Fear gripped him at once as he wished the sea
would have killed him rather than making him survive and get caught in the hands of those goons.
"No! I've got to run" he whispered attempting to rise again but then realization struck him when he heard a chain rattle not too far from his leg. It dawn to him that his left leg was chained to a rock at the bottom of the sea.
Alex crawled to where the lock could be hastily as he intended to break.off from the bondage. Footsteps began to approach closer which made him more bewildered and craved for survival from whatever beast headed his way which of course where the goons after his life.
"Ethan!!"
More voices echoed as they drew near to the being chained by the sea shore.
Alex covered his face with his palm after countless efforts of getting out of the chain had failed. It was over for him, he didn't want to lift that petrified face to face these men who wouldn't spare him.
His life was going to be waste at such an age when he haven't even taken a glimpse at his future and if his dreams would ever come true.
Those fears was suddenly lifted when he felt a warm embrace and tears sinking on to the off white shirt he wore, he felt this woman's gown covered almost all his body. He raised his head slowly to take a look at who was hugging him rather than killing him in cold blood.
His eyes quickly detect that she was wearing a wedding dress which was covered in mud, her umber coloured hair was tossed by the brief wind and it swept across his face that it covered his sight.
"Oh Ethan, don't ever try that again..." Her serene voice cried in his ears that he became speechless to say anything to this woman cuddling him. He desperately needed to have a glimpse at this woman whose warm breath was felt through neck which made his skin squiver coupled with her touch.
"I love you" she furthered kissing him on the cheek and gluing her body firmly to his that he could feel his heartbeat. For a moment, he felt his soul wasn't with him, he glanced through her back and found three men in dark cooperate suits with two women dressed in emerald green skin tight mini gown, they seemed like people whined from chasing after something.
Their hairs were ruffled, each panted for air as the two ladies bent slightly with their hands on their knees to support them from falling. This woman wasn't even letting him be as she wouldn't let him out of her grip.
At last, he terminated the hug, held her arms while saying;
"Who are you?"
This woman narrowed her eyes, shoved her face to the five behind her and then at him.
"Ethan what's wrong with you? You barely survived..."
"Hold on...whose Ethan?" He cuts in confused as these people looked strange from those chasing after him last night.
His lips suddenly fumbled when his eyes met with this woman, who made his heartbeat slow and his though void.
She was a beautiful lady with blue eyes that looked like crystals enwrought in snow, her red battered lips sinked with trembling that he suddenly desired to lock them with his. Her skin glowed under the radiant of the sun and those tears that flowed from her eyes desired to be wipe off by him.
"I think boss is having mental issue" the first began as the second hurried up to release him from the chains bounding him from rising.
Alex shook his head attempting to jerk back to reality but it wasn't working because he still finds himself with this woman and five others who accorded with respects. How could he be thinking of a woman who was was way older than him instead of figuring a way out of this shred.
"Where am I? Are the cops or something?"
The woman bursted into more tears at his questions were heartbreaking, if he couldn't recall her, then who else was he going to recall?
He winced as the chain came off his leg, why was he chained? And who are these people? No one was giving a respond as they were all perturbed about him that what he said didn't click their memory.
The second and third man assisted him to get on his feet while the two ladies consoled her to be calm.
He couldn't even stand properly, his eyes gazed at the surroundings again, he intended to run away from this madness but the two men held his arms and they seem even more stronger than he was.The first was making a phone call, two inches away and Alex could tell he was calling out for someone to come pick them up. This was all a trap and he needed to take his plight no matter what happens!Alex, inhaled deeply, turned his gaze to the man at his left hand, bite him and when this bitten man groaned, everyone's attention was diverted to him and Alex seized that opportunity to hurtle from these strange people who seems like agents being sent to catch up with him.His weaken legs had to scamper away from danger and more adrenaline pumped inside him to aid his movement."Ethan!" The woman in the wedding dress called attempting to bolt after him but she tripped on the hem of her dress, fortunately, she was caught by the first body guard. He had to assure her to stay calm that her groom woul
Her toes were curled as her eyes followed him till he disappeared, the last words he said was;"What's wrong with me"Deep in her heart, she wished to run furthered with him, it was the first time she was really this close to a man especially this man who everyone knew as being ruthless but he was quite different from today! Her eyes met her palm which still felt his warmth from earlier when they locked hands to escape from danger. He had beckoned on her to tie up that stranding hair of hers, so it could aid her too to see clearly and just walked pass her lamenting to himself. What made her heart melt was the fact that this man accorded with respect and even thanked her, out of the blue for offering to help him, from those after him.His voice was so serene that it got her bothering if he was the same man from the rumors, her eyes scrutinized what he wore, his wedding dress had really become a mess that she could describe how it looked on him. However, he still charming and those allu
There were a lot of puzzling questions that he needed to ask someone but there was no one to give him a respond. This lady kept disturbing his ears with irrelevant things as he had to bear her weight, act like a gentleman and take her destination. After a long walk, they got to an isolated place where he could see lights illuminations from windows, this place made him remember home as though he had been her before. Gently he dropped her from his arms and gestured to her to go although he gave her a warm smile which melt her heart."Come.with.me, you can.spend.the night" she snapped like though her drunken state had wear off, although her tongue felt heavy to spat the words straight as so the words had to be stress. This lady rubbed her eyes to wade off sleep but it was useless.Alex couldn't risk staying over with a total stranger as he was still pronounced wanted by public and she could betray him. One couldn't trust a stranger badly, however he needed to tell her something that migh
A sneeze erupted from his nose, that got his eyes opened, his body stiffen as he attempted to turn around but couldn't due to the pain that coarse in his body. He let out a groan, stretched his arms and then blinked his eyes.A sweet scent of lavenda and rose hit his nose that he hastily jolted up from where he laid just to figure out where he was. He glanced at his chest and suddenly screamed. His swing his head up, scrutinized this place and speculates that he was in a room.Could he be in heaven? If so, God spared his sins and gave him a special suite to stay. However, if this was heaven, then, it was his soul here. He snapped out of that thought and brought out another assertion, although they weren't relating with the situation on ground.Could this be a different trap to make him die a rosy death or perhaps die by poison? Torture? However it couldn't be in such a beautiful room. He just hoped he would wake up from this nightmare that lingered in his head because he couldn't find
At last, his stucked body came out of the bed, his strain elbow made him cuss as his back lean on the bed, distressed over what was happening. While he was lost in thoughts, the door flung open and five men in suit appeared, each giving him a bow, their serious look made him flinch that almost thought they were there to end his life."Boss, are you okay?" The first asked and he shook his head negatively while attempting to rise to his feet but the second aided him up. He almost stumbled but held the edge of the bed and sat down while taking a blanket for shield"Get the drinks, and cigarettes" the third ordered the fourth who dashed out but alex beckoned on him not to.They speculate he was behaving this way because he haven't gotten his drugs in his system, since he was addicted and if he had some, then their boss would get a hold of himself. However, he was refusing them which got these men perplexed. He could barely utter a word, only signs got him now. These men asked him what he
Making them agree with his decisions was a tough ride but he succeded. He would have passed out because of hunger, but luck might just be for him; as he got a chance to be alone. Though, they stood outside like robots waiting, until he calls anyone of them inside but he didn't care, as long as he was alone for now, he loved it. What his secretary said earlier got him thrilled to know more about this man, he was mistaken to be. He was eating ravishingly that he didn't want any thought to pop out of his head. "Must be hot tempered like the books I read" he squeezed out of his mouth which was filled up with burger and bacons. From the look of it, he would choke to death with the amount of food he stuff in his mouth. Alex coughed and flushed down the meal with milkshake and then water. This might just be paradise, but this paradise could somewhat be creepy. He belch loudly and sighed sharply while gasping for air as he was too filled up to even get up to his feet. His room became mes
He wouldn't lie to himself that he wasn't perplexed by what his secretary whispered to him.The thought that first rang in his pathetic mind was; escape, they found out. His tongue was heavy to spit out a word because he wasn't himself anylonger. This paradise was a trick and leaving quietly was all that matters."He's on his way to the warehouse, would you like to meet him? Or I should finish him off?" The secretary furthered and Alex widened his eyes at him."Who is that?" He managed to question with probing eyes that might fall out if not held back."It's Eric, the journalist""Eric? I thought he was dead? I killed him that night!"Alex suddenly grimaced as he noted that he had air his thoughts loudly to the ears of the secretary who was puzzled and tried reading meaning to what his boss says."I suggest you meet him, boss, any slight mistake could tarnish your image and for the incident yesterday, I've tackled it, so don't worry over it" Lucian declared with an indifference look a
The cold of the noon flew pass the city as a Lamborghini drove pass a company which stood elegantly in the city centre. It made a halt at the entrance of the building and its doors flung open. The media personnels which stood in wait by the entrance flooded the car at once as the occupants of the car could barely step out. The place was becoming rowdy as journalist pressed further to grab something vital while here.Instantly, some bouncers joggled towards the mob of news press and shoved them aside from the car. Like a suspense before their eyes, two pairs of shoes stepped out. Soon, the being came out in his full figure.Flash lights flooded his face, he had a stern look and didn't seem impressed by what was going on. His was dressed in wealth which could tell he was an elite in the society."Mr Rodger, is the accusations laid upon you true?" A journalist screamed and soon other questions began trooping in. The bouncers created a pathway through their midst and to make barriers to p
His nervous eyes suddenly turned dark as his tender feet hide behind his mother. His chapped lips muttered some words as his sad face could prove that something troubled him. He looked timid as his ears tingled at the sounds he heard which drew his attention to the scene displaying before him. He sensed the tears of children, wives and mothers. They were at the train station and soon, those they came to say goodbye to would depart. It made him scared as his eyes met the gaze of the young man who intended to kiss his mother. The place he stood with his mother was rowdy and it gave him goosebumps as his hands held the garment his mother held. His grip on the garment of his mother tighten as a young man waved at him with tears gathered in his eyes. It felt that was the last moments he would see the one person he looked up to. This lad had a lot of disappointment buried inside of him and had wishes to turn back time. Today was a day his lips had to mutter goodbye to his father who was a s
Dark tree trunks, shadows, overhanging limbs across the path seen at the last second, clumps of bushes, barely visible black trails snaking through the undergrowth. The moon shone through a lattice of leaves, patchy sky and stars seen in glimpses through tree breaks, tall shadowed pines stretching up like arrows into the sky, streaks of cloud against the earth, Wind slipping through leaves, cracking undergrowth with each step, creaking tree trunks, the flutter of wings unseen, snapping twigs, grass. Heavy pants could be heard through this dangy wood as a man could be seen covered in blood while holding a little child in his arms. His torn outfit, bruised face, dangling hair could tell he was escaping. His feet never gave a halt to the impending danger behind him as surviving from his raging foes was all that matter. He curdled this petrified child tightly, groaned in pains and tottered deeper into the woods. His only energy was the child he vowed to keep alive despite the pains and hu
He held a mini box in his hands and a headphone on. His lips mumbling words and his head nodding slowly. His feet stride slowly as the environment he found himself seems to be isolated except the creepy sounds of insects. A soft sigh left his lips as his eyes gazed around and then rested on a building in front of him. From the looks of it, he knew the reason why he was here in this abandoned building that would now become his own. He had no fear about what possibly could happen here. Rumors had it that the past occupants here never survived a night. A finger of his ran through his ruffled hair as he bit his lips and smirked. It was never his wish to come here but then circumstances made him do so. He was never good at anything yet had a dream to be a doctor and enrolled in a medicine school only to get kicked out due to a conspiracy and sent here to the tower of death. Magic was the key in that school and every perpetrator of a heinous crime was sent here as a death sentence, though w
The swirling wind swept across the place as the cloud had gathered for a heavy downpour giving signs for the victim of it's wrath. The dark was drawing in and people could be seen hurrying to take shelter away from the impending storm that would come upon them. Steadily, a downpour began wetting the earth and anything its stroke could come upon. Stacy was found in her pyjamas, t-shirt, flipflop slippers and face cap striding in the rain which had become heavy. Her hair were being toss aside by the whirlwind as the cold for the day had captured her. She had no idea of where she was heading to. There were no cabs around neither did she look like one who was ready to go home. At that moment, she wanted death to come take her. It was definitely over but too soon. The situation got her asking why it always had to be her. Why did she pull an act that had a bitter ending. Did he know she had to swallow her pride to hug him in people's presence? He felt like a gentleman who would understand h
Ryan smiled and began a speech by saying it was an honor to be seated with kings and queens of the upper hands. He had only seen them in TV and they look cute in real life. Furthermore, he praised them a bit to lighten up the mood mostly the ruthless looking emperor who let out a sided smile at the young man's adornment. Stacy was troubled that he wouldn't win her father but it seems like he would because the emperor loved praises. The only people who were against them were her brothers. Ryan had to lie about the companies he had and awards won as a distinguish businessman. The emperor went further to ask how much his assets worth and Stacy answered that on his behalf. The only man was someone who loved proof and couldn't be bought easily. The prepared Stacy had that with her which left Ryan stunned. The emperor was impressed by that as only a wealthy man, posed and perfect could be accepted to the family as though his were perfect because from Ryan's observation, this family was fall
She tried to speak, but was choked with tears. Her tearstained face was puffy and swollen with grief, crestfallen, she realised that her only chance to succeed was gone. However, proving the guest wrong was her aim. Her stunning wedding dress which had buried her suit her perfectly as she was groomed beautifully for this day. Today would have been the most remarkable day of her life if it wasn't screwed up by her groom. Here she was in the dress room cussing at every scene that had happened an hour ago. Her supposed groom had just rejected her last minutes to the wedding ceremony. If it were her wish, she would have halted the time. It was so embarrassing and agonizing for her as she needed to stay strong and sought a way out. Attempting not to freak out, she began to comfort herself. At that moment, time had stopped as the gnawing grief still held her still. Her make had almost wash away from the uncontrollable tears while she stood facing the mirror as her mind contemplated. She fol
The sun had risen up steadily as it shone its ray through windows which slightly paved way for it to penetrate. It bright light rested on her forehead as her mouth let out a gasp which was accompanied by a groan. She fluttered her lashes slowly trying to get her eyes open. Her body felt weaken and glued to where she laid. Gradually, her blurry vision was becoming vivid and it got to her notice that she was in a room. Her hands raked her rumbled hair as she felt like she was in a trace. The few memories she could recall was being locked up in a capsule and found herself staggering towards a foggy area. Her brown eyes scrutinized the room which didn't look like a ward or hers. The confused lady felt her temperature which was warm and then rolled her gaze to the window which gave way for the sun to greet her."What happened?" She questioned as though someone would give her the answers she needed. Miranda winced with pain while trying to massage her body. She still couldn't understand wha
Doctor Eric had his eyes on the young man who had been trapped inside this capsule for 20 years. He often wondered how his mentor knew about the miseries of passing through a border between the living and afterlife. The young doctor still had his speculations if he should cut this first experiment out of life. Furthermore, how did he survive in a foreign world all these years? He had thought that was the end of the young man but someone proved he was still alive and striving to live. It must have been difficult for this first experiment to adapt and face difficulty.Eric hadn't muster up courage to do as professor Henry commanded and he knew if the old man turns up, he would cut him off. For now, he was all alone in the laboratory and time wasn't on their side. From observation, the second experiment was left with 24 hours to return. He raked his left brow and strides towards Miranda's capsule, she was breathing just fine and had no complications yet. Though, he never could tell what
They arrived at an abandoned factory and he gestured to her that she had only few minutes to hand over the letter. She cleared her throat as she mustered up courage to seek after Eloise who needed to see the letter which her father brought to her. Thanks to someone, she got to her destination and found the Eloise's location. She was a teenage girl who lived in an forgotten factory and had no one asking after her. Tyler chose to stay outside but Miranda had no confident to enter this dark, lonely factory alone and requested Tyler comes along promising she wouldn't trouble him further. Furiously, he got a torchlight and led the way while she was clingy from behind. She had even banged her head on his back due to how close she was and he retorts at her to stay inches away from him. She apologized and stepped ahead of him as he handed her the torchlight since she decided to take the lead not to trouble this gloomy man. They were different doors in this factory and Tyler's voice gave her d
