"What do you mean you fired Claudia?" Edmund pretended not to understand the meaning of Vincent's words.

"Your niece has behaved insolently. She's gone too far and trampled on my pride with her sneaky ways," Vincent sneered.

Vincent's tone had changed. What had been formal was now casual in front of Edmund, his investor. Edmund was surprised by the drastic change in attitude Vincent had shown him.
