The Toughest Rival

Vincent managed to find Milea in the city park. She was walking slowly and sitting on a swing near the playground where children usually play in the park. Her gaze was blank and she looked very sad. She was still thinking about the incident with her ex-boyfriend.

"Milea!" Vincent exclaimed as he approached her. Milea turned to him.

"Why can you always find me Vin?" Milea was surprised. She hurriedly wiped her tears that fell on her cheeks.

"Is my dad telling you to keep an eye on me now?" Milea guessed.

"Let's go home!" invited Vincent. He ignored Milea's question.

"I don't want to," Milea refused, looking away.

"We should go home first," Vincent persuaded. Milea did not say yes to Vincent's invitation.

"Your father is very worried about you, Milea," Vincent informed her. However, Milea did not take Vincent's word for it.

"I don't want to go home. My father has taken my place with you. Now, you are his son," Milea reasoned. However, the reasoning put forward by the spoilt child did not make sense.

Vincent's forehead furrowed into folds. "That was a long time ago. If I want to be his son, then I have to marry you first. Right now, I'm just his subordinate. You are his daughter, Milea," Vincent consoled. Milea looked away with a sardonic smile at that.

"Marry you? Ridiculous!" mocked Milea. "You don't deserve to be with me, Vin," she snapped.

"So, is a brat like that guy worthy of being your companion?" Vincent turned Milea's question around.

"I think I'm a thousand times better than him," Vincent joked. Milea smiled briefly. It was a rather wry smile.

Milea was silent for a long time. Vincent's words were true. The man who became her jerk lover really didn't deserve Milea. Vincent tried to convince Milea that she wanted to come home with him. Although it was rather difficult for Vincent to persuade her at this time.

"Let's go home! I'll take you to your father's house," Vincent said again. "How long are you going to stay here? It's a waste of time."

This time, Milea would do as Vincent said. Finally, she wanted to go back to Mr Eduardo's house. Milea straightened her clothes and make-up before entering her home. She didn't want her father to to see her very messy appearance.

Milea asked Vincent to keep the unpleasant incident a secret from Mr Eduardo. Both of them have agreed. Vincent promised Milea that he would not tell Mr Eduardo the truth.

From a distance, a black car was stalking Vincent and Milea on the side of the road. Vincent did not know that he was being watched by someone. He didn't know it. It was definitely a man. He was watching all of Vincent's movements. Including who Vincent meets and talks to.

On the other hand, there was also a mysterious man hiding in a different car. The man smiled sarcastically after seeing with his own eyes and head. Vincent was so close to Milea, Mr Eduardo's only daughter.

The man even got important information that Vincent and Milea had been matched by Mr Eduardo. It was an informant in his office who had told him. The information also mentioned that they would soon have a wedding.

"I swear I will destroy you, Vin," Edward said in the car.

After seeing Vincent and Milea's intimacy, Edward got a good idea to get back at Vincent for what his biggest rival had done to him. Edward would use Milea as a tool to destroy Vincent's life and career.

'You'll see, Vin!' Edward promised.

Vincent pondered all night, before he went to bed. The GPS tracking device on Milea's mobile phone could only work temporarily. When Milea's phone was deactivated, Vincent couldn't keep an eye on her continuously. There must be another solution, he thought.

Vincent thought again. He wanted to make a tracking device for Milea. Just in case one day. If she was ever out of his reach.

"I need my computer," Vincent thought. Because all the programmes he needed Vincent needed, were on his old computer.

Vincent thought of his computer that his landlady had confiscated the other day. He had to get it back immediately. Maybe tomorrow. Before she sold it to the flea market.

Knock-knock-knock!

Someone knocked on Vincent's door from outside. He got out of bed and was about to open the door.

"Mr Eduardo?" Vincent was surprised to see Milea's father standing in front of his bedroom door.

"Please come in, sir," Vincent invited.

Mr Eduardo entered Vincent's room. For the past few days, Vincent had been living in his large and luxurious house. He had never expected that Mr Eduardo would take him home to live in his house.

"Do you feel at home here?" Mr Eduardo asked Vincent, pleasantly.

Vincent smiled and thanked Mr Eduardo for being so kind to him. In that house he felt he had been well received, even in his company.

"What happened to Milea this afternoon, Vin?" Mr Eduardo changed the subject. He seemed to know something about what had happened that afternoon at his ex-girlfriend Milea's house.

Vincent tried to cover up the matter. However, he was still found out. There were many ways that Mr Eduardo could extract information about what had just happened to his daughter.

Vincent finally told Mr Eduardo the truth. Because there was no way he could hide the serious incident that happened to Mr Eduardo's daughter. The old man had a right to know.

"I'm sorry, sir," Vincent regretted. He felt so guilty for hiding Milea's problem from Mr Eduardo.

"There's no need to regret it. I just want you to watch Milea more closely. Don't let your guard down, Vin! Because danger is always around the corner," Mr Eduardo warned Vincent.

"Yes, sir. I understand," Vincent obeyed. He also lowered his gaze.

"Good job, Vin!" praised Mr Eduardo.

"May I know why you trusted me with Milea?" Vincent asked. He was very curious about Mr Eduardo's intentions.

"Vin, I can only trust you for now. I'm old and can't watch Milea all the time. That's why my daughter really needs you by her side," explained Mr Eduardo. "So, I beg you. Don't waste my trust in you," he pleaded.

Vincent understood. He would try to obey Mr Eduardo's orders as well as carry out his mandate. After a few hours of talking about Milea, Mr Eduardo left, leaving Vincent alone in his room. The night was getting late.

"How do I solve this problem? It seems like it will be difficult to handle Milea," Vincent thought somewhat confused.
