"What did my mother do?" She asked as she stood by the entrance.

"Ivy, when did you get back? I thought you went for a walk." Lucas immediately got to his feet.

"What did my mother do Lucas?" She repeated the question, tears already blurring her vision.

"Nothing, she didn't do anything." He treid to sound casual but she could see the unmistakable look of fear in his pale blue eyes, fear that she might have found out something.

"What are you hiding from me Lucas?" She questioned with trembling voice.

"Nothing."

"Detective Jones, what are you doing here?"

"We were just discussing the progress of the investigation."

"Do not lie to me, I know what I heard Lucas."

This was the worst way she could find out something so huge, and it was definitely not the way he intended on telling her. "Look Ivy, there's no easy way to say this but–"
