After all three of them had testified, Grover decided to wrap everything up. "Now I don't know why Marco Platana would go to all this lengths just to steal another man's wife but I think we can all agree when I say he's not an honorable person. Please, I would like to urge you all to disregard any further news from that man, all he'll do is fill your head with lies. Does anyone have any other question?" The press and paparazzi looked from one person to the other but none of them spoke up. "Well I think that wraps up everything then–""Why have you chosen to stay hidden all this while?" Someone spoke up from the crowd. "You could have just come out to disregard the rumors from the start, why wait this long?""Well…" Grover glanced in Lucas's direction and he slightly shook his head. He didn't know what to say. "I never thought it would drag on for this long.""Okay, but why don't you show your face in public? I heard your secretary is the one who handles all your meetings.""And that
Lucas watched with genuine happiness as Ivy caressed her legs, smiling to herself. She had gotten her first cramp earlier that day and she was thrilled. She was recovering faster than he expected."Having fun?"She looked up at him, giggling like a child. "Yeah, I am." He sat on the sofa next to her and took her small hand in his. "See, I told you you were going to recover faster than you know. I wasn't wrong now, was I?""No. You really don't know how happy I am Lucas. I thought I was going to be confined to that chair all my life.""I didn't. I knew you were going to walk, and run again. I never lost faith in you for one second. I knew you were a strong woman, and that you were going to pull through." He had to admit, there were some times he almost lost faith but he had to remind himself who he was married to."Thank you, I don't know what I would do without you." She hugged him and rested her head on his chest. He held her close and he realized she was crying. "Are you okay?" S
Ivy sat on the bed and crossed her arms. She was upset. Lucas had been trying to convince her all morning but she wouldn't listen. He knew she missed her mother, she was just being stubborn. Ever since Peter told her their mother was missing her, she had been thinking about it and Lucas could tell, even though she tried to hide it."Honey, try to reason with me." Peter had texted him later, he said he was the only one who could convince her to go."No, I won't. I don't want to see that woman.""Yes you do.""Have you forgotten what she did to us? To you?"Lucas hadn't forgotten, he didn't think he could ever forget. But this wasn't about him, it was about Ivy. "No, I haven't forgotten, but I'm sure she has learnt her lesson. And if she hasn't, we can always cut ties with her again."She stared at him, her frown softening a little. "You really don't mind?""I don't. I can take you there right now if you want me to."Her lips parted into a sweet smile. "Thank you.""You're always welco
Lucas sat awake in the pitch black room, he was having a hard time falling asleep. The fact that he might have a sister still bothered him greatly. If this sister was real, where had she been all these years? Was she older than he was?, was she still alive? Would she recognize him if they met? There were so many questions on his mind and he desperately wanted answers to them. He quietly got up, trying not to wake Ivy but just as he was about to get up, he heard her sleepy voice."Are you going somewhere?"He should have known she would wake up, Ivy had always been a light sleeper. The slightest sound or movement could wake her up. "I just need a glass of water. Do you want anything?""No, just hurry back.""Alright." Ivy was afraid of the dark so she always had trouble sleeping whenever it was dark, and Lucas on the other hand, couldn't sleep with the lights on. They concluded that she would let him turn off the light on the condition that he stayed with her all through the night. He
Lucas sat next to Grover, his mouth slightly opened in shock. He couldn't believe that something like that would transpire between his father and that woman. As if Grover read his mind, he added. "I know how shocking it must be for you to hear but its true."His father had an affair with his mother in-law. How was that even possible? "I don't understand.""Blanche had had her eyes on your father since they took them in. She tried so many ways to convince him to bend to her wishes but your father refused.Blanche never backed down, she tried so many things, plotted so many schemes until she finally got your father to bend to her demands. Their affair however, didn't last long. He confessed to your mother and she forgave gim. He gave her an expensive necklace as a symbol of his love and the two remained happy, until the tragic incident."So his dad didn't fall for her, she seduced him into doing it. It definitely sounded like something she would do. "Thank you for clarifying things."
Lucas stood in his office, looking out the large window. It was a beautiful day, partly cloudy bland partly sunny. Like those days that were perfect for a picnic or to go for a drive. He wasn't enjoying the scenery though, he couldn't even see anything other than the reflection of his frowning face on the glass. His mind was clogged with different thoughts. He glanced at his watch, checking the time before he resumed his pointless staring like he had been doing for the past thirty minutes. He needed to get that necklace back, it seemed so unfair to his mother that Blanche was wearing something that held such meaning."Sir?" Lucas flinched as someone tapped his shoulder. "I knocked." He said as Lucas turned to him, still wearing a frown."Its alright, I just didn't hear you come in.""Is something on your mind?""Its nothing I can't take care of. Is something up?" He gestured at the little envelope Mike had in his hands."Oh no, it's not work related." He handed Lucas the envelope and
"On behalf of the whole family, I would like to thank you sire, for your hospitality towards this family. We are really grateful for all you've done for us.""Oh, you don't have to thank me ma'am. Grover is more like a father to me and I want to do everything I can to make him comfortable, so this is nothing. Hope you're all enjoying your stay?""Of course. More than you know sire.""That's good to hear." Grover's wife was really beautiful, even for someone her age. He didn't know how old she was exactly but, he was sure she would be over fifty and she was rocking it. She was slightly chubby, like their daughter and she had a young face."Where is Grover?" Lucas hadn't seen him since he arrived at the mansion, and that was unusual."He's napping. Should I wake him up?""Oh please no, let him rest." Lucas was sure Grover didn't get much sleep since he was trying to be there for him at all times."Okay sire. Thank you once again.""It's fine, really.""If you need anything, please let
Ivy was alone, again. Ever since her accident, she was always indoors. She couldn't go to work, neither could she go for her occasional strolls. She really hated being confined to that stupid chair.Doctor Julie said she was getting better, but she didn't feel any different. Sure she was starting to regain her sense of feeling in her legs, but they were still too heavy for her to move. She felt so helpless. She heard her mother's usual three knocks on the door and she went to open the door. "My Darling, are you okay? How's the fever?""Better mother." The reason for her obvious concern was because Ivy had called her mother earlier that she was sick and she needed her mother's care. "Thank you for coming so early." She said, even though her mother wasn't really early. She had called her by seven thirty, before Lucas left for work. And she was only arriving, nearly four hours later."Anything for you my dear." She dropped her bag on the center table as she settled on the couch. "I broug
