50. The Break Up

"Why are you back so soon?" She sat up as she saw him walk in.

He smiled at Ivy's question and went to seat by her side on the couch. "Did you get here by yourself?"

She nodded, feeling proud of herself. She was getting better by the day, she didn't need help to get off the chair anymore but he always volunteered to help her whenever he was around.

"Did you even go back to work?"

"I changed my mind. I missed you terribly, so I ran all the way back home."

She laughed at his explanation and nudged him playfully. "Come on, what happened?"

"I want us to do something, something unlike anything we've ever done before."

"What?"

"Let's break up."

She sat up, a stern frown on her face. "What the hell are you talking about? That'd not funny you know."

Lucas chuckled at her reaction. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to startle you." He pulled her close and she stared up at his face. "I want to prove to you that your mother lied about Peter."
