84. No Secrets.

Ivy didn't understand why Lucas had insisted she didn't eat anything at her parent's place but now that she was here, it was starting to make sense to her.

She sat across her parents who kept smiling uncomfortably and talking awkwardly. Her mother still did a good job at hiding it but her father was an easy mark. He couldn't even look her in the eyes.

"I think I've spent enough time here." She brought out her phone and called the driver Lucas had insisted on getting for her. "I'm done, you can come over now."She still didn't tell her parents she could walk so he was also in charge of pushing her around.

Ivy was supposed to be happy she didn't have to stress herself by walking around but she was more than tired of sitting on that chair.

"Are you sure you don't want to spend more time with me?" Her mother asked, smiling broadly.

Where was that coming from?

"Spend time with you?"

"Sure, we could just spend the day together."

"Yeah, maybe some other time."
