Carolene fell down the staircase stopping right by Kraig's feet.

Kraig and the second Wesley had been walking to the staircase so as to help Mr DeVille get into his bed. But suddenly, Carolene fell down the staircase and she stopped right at his feet.

Her hands were over her stomach as she shielded the baby. Her head was cut open and the floor around herbwas dyed red.

Kraig at first couldn't process what was going on because it felt like a horrible nightmare. Jade was already running down the staircase in order to ensure that she was still alive.

Jade ran so fast like she had never done before and when she stopped in front of Kraig she saw that Carolene was bleeding profusely and her breathing was not stable.
