Disbelief

"I can't believe I almost believed your words," I say, my voice tinged with disbelief and a hint of skepticism. The realization sets in that Mike, who was possibly toying with me.

A wave of doubt crashes over me, and I can't help but wonder if his intentions were simply to retaliate for what I said to him earlier.

As the words leave my lips, a scoff escapes from him, a clear display of his contempt. His response confirms my suspicions.

"It's obvious," he says, his voice laced with an air of superiority, "that you're blind to the truth." Anger instantly surges within me, tempting me to lash out, to deliver a well-deserved punch in response him. But, with a deep breath, I manage to suppress the urge, restraining my emotions for the sake of composure.

"How can you say that to your boss?" I ask, a mischievous smirk playing on my lips as I await his response.
