Stood up

I stood there, lost in thought. I knew that going out with her would be dangerous, but I also knew that I couldn't keep rejecting her. It would only serve to alienate her further and make her feel unappreciated. And yet, I couldn't ignore the potential dangers of such a meeting.

I needed to think things through, to come up with a plan that would keep us both safe. But in the meantime, I had to figure out what to say to her. How could I let her down gently, without hurting her feelings?

"I'll call you when I am done," I said, my voice filled with determination. She quickly nodded her head in understanding.

"Have a nice day at work," she said, her tone conveying her genuine affection. I hurriedly made my way towards the garage, eager to start my day.

Upon arriving at the office, I was greeted by the sight of Nathan and Mike pacing around anxiously. Sensing their concern, I approached them, my curiosity piqued.
