Chapter 19

"Sir," I said, my voice determined yet respectful, "you should at least listen to what I have to say." As the words left my lips, he scoffed loudly.

"What did you have to say?" he retorted, his voice laced with sarcasm. "Is it not the same old story? I'm done with your company, and that president of yours dared to humiliate me," he says, his words filled with a mix of fury and intrigue.

I couldn't help but question the veracity of his claims. The president, Karen, whom I knew, seemed incapable of such malicious acts.

"I am not here to repeat the old story. Can we have a conversation, even just for a few moments? I promise not to take up too much of your time," I said calmly, determined to engage him in a meaningful discussion.
