Bad news

Camelia breathed hard, gasping for breath. It was then that fresh tears rushed down her cheeks.

“You did it, Marcus…” she whispered through her tears, her lips shaking.

“I suppose I did,” Marcus replied, standing up and wiping his sweaty face. “It was a bit difficult getting those wires apart. But I am glad that I could save you both.”

“Thank you Marcus,” Jessica squealed, breathing heavily and trying to calm herself. “I honestly thought we were gonna die.”

Marcus could not stop gazing at the two ladies. He considered them brave and could not imagine the level of risk they both took.

“I will be Eternally grateful to you for this sacrifice you made for me and my friend,” Camelia wept, holding on to his legs.

Marcus lifted her and have a warm hug to keep her calm. Her body was shaking and it was then that he realized how scared she had actually been but just had to keep a brave face.

He admired her now more than ever.
