“Not if I can help it,” Marcus replied, his grip tightening on Magnus. He could feel the tension building around them as Clara continued to fire, taking out guards one by one.

With a sudden movement, Magnus shoved Marcus back, scrambling to his feet. “You’re making a grave mistake, Marcus! You have no idea how deep I am in this game!”

“I’m not afraid of you anymore,” Marcus retorted, determination hardening his voice. He glanced over at Mara, who was still struggling to keep Magnus pinned down. “Mara, keep him restrained! We can’t let him get away!”

“Enough!” Mara snapped, pushing him back down. “You think you’re untouchable, but we’re done letting you manipulate everyone around you.”
