Chapter 126

The new place

Miller left the interrogation room, feeling uneasy. Despite his outward display of confidence, he couldn't shudder off the feeling that his tracks might not be as well-covered as he had hoped. As he made his way home, his mind was filled with thoughts of how to tie up any loose ends and make sure that no evidence could lead back to him.

Upon arriving home, Miller wasted no time in getting to work. He pulled out his phone and began making calls to his remaining gang members, asking probing questions about the shootout at the warehouse. He needed to know if there were any other individuals involved besides the ones who had already been eliminated.

With each call, Miller's anxiety only seemed to grow, as his associates provided vague and uncertain answers.

"Hey, it's Miller," he said tersely as soon as one of them answered. "I need to know if there were any other players involved in that warehouse mess."
