Edward nodded politely and stepped into the house, his eyes scanning the cozy interior. The living room exuded a sense of comfort and familiarity, adorned with family photographs and mementos of a life well-lived. "We've been expecting you, sir," the man said, leading Edward to a cozy sitting area. "Please, have a seat."

Edward's mind briefly registered a flicker of confusion as the man referred to himself using the word "we" instead of "I."
