With everyone's agreement, Adele went to Brenda's room, where she had retreated earlier, to discuss this new plan.

Brenda was lying facedown on her bed, weeping into her pillow as Adele walked in. Seeing her best friend's pain weighed heavily on Adele's heart, but she knew that they had to act quickly, given Edward's rapidly approaching 64-hour deadline.

Adele approached Brenda gently and sat on the edge of the bed. "I know you're hurting, but I need to tell you about an idea Eva had. It's not perfect, but it might make it easier for you."

Hearing this, Brenda looked up, her tear-streaked face turning towards Adele as she sat up and faced her friend. "What is it?"

Adele hesitated for a moment before explaining Eva's suggestion. "What if Edward only had a one-night stand with the other two women? The requirement states that he must have a sexual relationship with them at least once, but it doesn't say anything about maintaining a relationship after that. It's far from ideal, but maybe.
