Leo's lopsided smile appeared again as he noticed her ears turning pink. He had an inkling to what she was thinking. If she would have acted bashful like this after just sharing a bed with him, why did she plead to stay in his room then?

But he indeed instructed the maids to prepare her favorite meals. He had already given them instructions before they went to bed. He isn't disappointed that she didn't eat it.

He's just worried. She skipped her meals. If Mae didn't notice it on time, it could go on for a long time without him finding out because he would have been too busy with the company.

"Here... Drink this before it gets cold," He stretched the cup of tea to her.

"I might puke if I drink that... I don't want to," She stubbornly refused. Leo smiled again. Does she know that she is whining like a child?

"Then... I'll drink it. I bet Mae's good at cooking too. I might try her dishes before leaving," He mumbled nonchalantly and raised the cup.

Leo ignored the curious looks he got at the company as he walked to the elevator while carrying Heaven in his arms. A team of bodyguards were following behind him. "OMG! Is that our Ceo!?," One of the employees whispered. "I never thought I'd get to see the Ceo carry a lady in his arms. I always thought that perhaps that thing wasn't working well." This comment garnered a lot of gasps. "Better make sure that word doesn't get to the Ceo. This should be able to tell you that he's straight and not what you think. How could you even imply that he's sterile?" "He'd have your head on his table if he hears that!" "But she didn't lie... She was only speaking the truth. Our Ceo has always shown great contempt for any close contact with a female so what else were you expecting us to think?" "I don't care what you guys say. He'll always be my dream guy. Haa! I have to take a picture of this moment and cherish it forever." The bodyguards swept the place with their cold gazes an

This is what or who the rascal was tryna hide in the room. Why does his sixth sense keep probing him that something is fishy? Leo stood up, completely ignoring the detective's presence. One part of him was dying to know how much she heard while the other was simply worried. Seems like worrying has become a constant thing in his life these days... At least, after the whole scenario that's been going on. "You couldn't sleep?," He asked as soon as he got to her. She shook her head sideways as a response. But before he could say something, she whispered in a hoarse tone,"I... I saw mom. She was... She was lying on that bed looking all bloody and..." She choked, unable to complete her sentence. It seemed like she had cried before stepping out. Detective Tom's eyes widened when Leo suddenly pulled Heaven into a hug and wrapped his hands

"Then turn around and leave. I'm giving you twenty minutes to come back here with our lunch," Leo's tone left no room for argument. Jake grumbled lowly and turned around. As the door closed behind him, Heaven gave Leo a discerning look. "You shouldn't treat him like he's your servant. Show some respect. He should be older than you " Leo chuckled,"Did he complain? I'm not treating him like a servant. He's my friend." Heaven didn't reply to this. She simply looked around the office and then stared at the desktop on his desk. "Can I borrow this for some minutes?," She pointed at them. Leo looked at her and then nodded. He brought out his phone and just then, a picture came in. It was from Valerie. When he clicked on it, he realized that it was a picture of the dishes she has prepared for him. Noting that Leo was paying no attention to her, she walked to his system and went to the browser. Typing out a website, she inputted the log in details and as soon as she was logged

He wanted to reply with a voice message but he remembered just in time that Heaven is also in the room. He resorted to sending a text instead,'Yes. 'Relax... Relax everyone. I'm perfectly fine. I just took a break for a few days. No need to worry so much and if you have an important message for me, send it to my inbox privately.' Heaven sat back on the swiveling chair after she had sent this message. I'm left reeling in shock. Is Heaven the boss lady they are referring to? 'Boss, take a look at this. This is what the client wants but— It's so difficult to get the appropriate design,' someone sent a message to Heaven, replying privately to the one she sent to the group. Heaven looked closely at the blueprint. I can't see anything on the screen except a pale white background with a few lines on it. Heaven moved her hands on the mouse and clicked on the cursor. The screen gradually began to bring out the theme of whatever picture it is. Just a few minutes later, I'm astounded at what I'm seeing. Detective Tom's hands flipped the pages faster. The next information displayed Hawk's personal life. It stated that he was divorced but had a child. Where is the child now? It also mentioned that he has a mother. Is his mother still alive? The remaining information was also useless to the detective because it only contained analysis about Hawk's job. Detective Tom closed the file when he reached the last page. He realized two things. There was not a single picture of Hawk in the file. There wasn't any personal, valid information about his address in the file. Did James not request for these two vital information when the file was being prepared? Besides, the file gave off the impression of Hawk having a good office relationship with his colleagues and his boss... Why then was he detained? Why did a large load of criminal records spring up on him all of a sudden? Detective Tom looked at the file in his hand. The file has caused him to reason if those criminal records of Hawk that w

The room shivered from the freezing atmosphere. The sounds of fingers tapping the keyboard grew rapidly. The officers were even more pressured to give officer Joe a satisfactory answer. They didn't dare to sit straight which ended up causing their backs to be in a stiff position. Officer Joe's eyes reddened as he panted in anger. He felt like he had just ran a 200-meters race with the way he screamed just now. He managed to calm himself and walked round the room, from one seat to the other. The officers were sweating profusely given the intense pressure his presence cast on them. Just when he was on the third row, an officer suddenly shouted excitedly. His loud voice filled with relief,"Boss, I found it!" Before officer Joe could take a step forward to the subordinate that had just spoken, another officer called out,"Me too!" "But her mental state isn't really strong right now to handle all this!" Leo snapped irritably. "You know... The Heaven I used to know before all this was so tough, haughty, bratty and spoiled." Detective Tom kept quiet. "Then what happened? You guys should have left her at the hospital. The doctor mentioned it but you all were so adamant to get her out of there." Leo brushed his hair with his fingers. "That place isn't safe for her. In Fact, nowhere is safe for her. I allowed her to go out for just a few hours today and she was attacked. Almost abducted." "Attacked? Today?," Detective Tom inquired. His demeanor turned serious. "We really have to act fast. The murderer won't stop till he or she gets whatever they want." Leo's eyes snapped open. "You also think there's something this murderer wants right!?" He sounded relieved.

Perhaps we could explore further tonight and maybe make a baby to appease the Grampa Wave." "You told grandpa?" She shrieked with widened eyes. "He didn't seem pleased," Leo led her to the car. Emily looked surprised and a smile soon spread out on her face. Meanwhile, Wave was speechless. When the words finally sunk in his brain, he yelled,"You rascal! How long have you had your eyes on her? How long has this been going on? Do you really think you'd be able to get her to the bureau without consulting me first?" Leo cringed at the noise. 'Just make up already,' he groaned inwardly but didn't say a word. All of a sudden, Leo ordered the chauffeur to stop the car, just a few meters away from Wave's manor. He ignored the looks he got from Q and Heaven and ordered,"Get out." Quan and Heaven exchanged looks confusedly until he repeated his words again,"Get out." The passenger's door automatically opened. Without thinking, Heaven made an attempt to walk out but Leo halted her movement with a cold glare. He was sitting opposite her so as soon as she saw the way he glared at her, she subconsciously sat back. Quan didn't need anyone to tell him that the person asked to get out was him. With grievance in his heart, he walked out. As he watched the car zoom off,

I'll surely make you regret what you did today." Leo didn't refute her word as he was pushed in. He simply dismissed the receptionist,"You can leave." The receptionist was relieved to leave that place cause she immediately hurried away. "Boss, you have twenty more minutes till the next meeting," Jake bent low to inform him. He nodded and looked at Valerie with that same expressionless face. "You have just ten minutes. Why did you want to see me by all means?" Valerie appeared a bit embarrassed. However, the latter's eyes suddenly fell on a strange file. One he's never seen before. "Which file is that?" He pointed at it. Jake looked at it and suddenly reacted like he'd forgotten to mention something while saying the schedule just now. "You asked me to research Mason's company, remember? Leo looked up at the collection of pictures on the table and a soft look suddenly adorned his cold features. At first, he had been very confused as to why Heaven suddenly decided to leave the country months ago. The crisis was over and there were no murder threats anymore so why did she suddenly insist on going abroad? He had been angered and bittered about her decision for a long time, feeling she was inconsiderate of his feelings and simply selfish until he found the real reason why she went abroad. A month after her departure, he began to receive emails from Q with pictures of Heaven's endeavors abroad. Leo unintentionally moved closer to look at the pictures closely. One picture had Heaven wearing this cute overalls with a pencil tucked behind her ear and a folder in her hand. She was standing in front of a Corp. smiling at a company of three unfamiliar men. Leo frowned and suddenly brought out scissors from a drawer to trim out the other Intruders in the picture. Jake

They were now in a fresh, clean Vvip ward and Leo was lying unconscious on the bed with Heaven sitting by his side. Receiving no questions, the doctor continued with his speech,"We would just like to put him under observation for some days because the poison weakened his body system and coupled with the large portion of anesthesia found in his blood—" Q coughed nervously when he heard this and subconsciously moved away from Wave who turned to the doctor with a puzzled look. "Anesthesia?" The doctor nodded at Wave's question. "Yes, we discovered that he had been injected with an overdose of anesthesia." Detective Tom itched his head nervously and exchanged a look with Q. "What happened while I was gone?" "Nothing," Q didn't even look at him. Larson took a stance against the walls as grandma Emily led Heaven to a bench. They had gotten to the operation theater and the bulb was still showing the red light to indicate that there was an ongoing operation. Larson pulled Q back when he saw that the latter was going to join grandma Emily and Heaven on the bench. He moved closer and asked again in a hushed tone,"Nothing?" "Which of the Greene's?" It was after detective Tom asked this question did he realize how stupid it sounds. He turned to Wave. "Granduncle, do you secretly have an illegitimate child outside that gave birth to this grandson?" As if on cue, grandma Emily and Wave glared at him at the same time causing him to seal his lips with his fingers. "Don't say nonsense and don't call me granduncle. I am not your relative.
