Hallo, we are finally through. Yayy└|∵|┐♪ Thank you so very much for sticking with me despite all disappointment. Who do you think the good Samaritan was? Leo's parents, James or someone else. As you have shown love to this book, do check out my new story Legitimate Heir At Law, a completely different theme from this. Thank you once again and if there's any student reading this, I wish us good luck in our upcoming exams. <3
Glasswares made clinking sounds as a loud laughter boomed in the hall every now and then. People were standing in pairs of two's and three's. Everyone is trying to build a social network. Leo's breath was disgruntled as he stood in front of the huge entrance door. He couldn't find it in himself to remain calm no matter how he tried. He could hear loud laughter coming from inside. He looked down at the rough but decent suit he was wearing, paired with black worn-out shoes that still looked presentable for tonight's events. This will have to do. He took a step forward and the doors flew open. He wasn't prepared for the sudden opening cause he froze a little bit. Everywhere quietened when the door flew open. People were anxiously looking at the direction of the door, wanting to see which distinguished business man or woman had arrived. Leo was sure that he heard loud gasps when he walked in. He tried not to feel nervous at the questioning eyes on him or waver at the scorching lo
Leo clapped absentmindedly with the rest of the crowd but his eyes stayed on the stage. The second reason why he is at the banquet tonight is to meet the mastermind of all these. He wants to meet the mysterious Mr Greene, the man that had single handedly led Greene's conglomerate to success for years. The man seems to be the only solution to his current problem. If he could just meet up with Mr Greene once, perhaps he'd be able to convince him... Convince him to help him in creating another PLATINUM. Perhaps the man will be convinced to help him in creating a new jewelry company. Just one word from the man, it can easily make Leo's worries disperse. Even though barely anyone knows who Mr Greene is or what he looks like because his conglomerate has always been headed by representatives, everyone actually holds that man in high accord. If Mr Greene is willing to sponsor his new business idea, he is certain that he would make another insurmountable feat in the business world and p
"Sir... What... Did... You... How...," Leo couldn't form a complete sentence. He just kept on stuttering till James explained,"I have been searching for you too." James smiled sadly,"I never even knew you were right under my nose. You don't know how long I have been searching for you Leo. I searched for years. Why did you change your name? Why did you change the name your father gave you?" Leo looked down, not having an answer to that. He didn't know what to say. James coughed and stood up. "We will talk about that later. How have you been Leo? This isn't what your father would have wanted for you. It's not even what I as your godfather would want for you," Leo didn't know why he felt like the man spoke with disappointment. So he is James Greene... The same Greene! And he is also his godfather... Leo could feel his head spinning. His supposedly godfather is the wealthy James Greene everyone adores. Leo couldn't describe how he felt at that moment. Excited? Stunned? Shocked? Ner
Three days later, Leo examined the spacious reception room, looking through the transparent glass windows and doors. He felt out of place, just sitting there, watching employees scurry to and fro. He tapped his fingers repeatedly on the seat as he glanced at the old, cracked watch on his wrist. He's been waiting there for the past forty five minutes but no one attended to him. He tried to approach the receptionist earlier but after giving him a quick look, she ignored him and he was forced to find a seat. Was this how his own receptionist used to behave to people? The thought slowly seeped in his mind. Did she use to treat people based on their appearances? Did she cast them out if they weren't well dressed like him? "Excuse me mister," A feminine voice interrupted the chain of thoughts in Leo's head. He looked up and saw that the receptionist finally noticed him. He stood up hurriedly, clutching the bag in his hand tightly. Not like a treasure was in it. It's just the cont
Leo didn't miss the opportunity to look around the floor as they walked to where he assumes to be Mr Greene's office. He stared back at the employees that pretended to be carrying out their various tasks, hiding how they were stealing glances at him. Jake finally stopped in front of a door which had a golden plated sign at the door. Leo read the three letter words out loud,'C-E-O.' Jake opened the door and walked in. Leo followed closely behind. "Here he is Mr Greene," Jake reported with a bow. James nodded, his eyes fixed on Leo. "You can leave. Ask one of the staff to bring refreshments later," James dismissed him. Leo stood by till the door closed quietly. "Why are you standing over there? Come here and take a seat," James pointed at the seats in front of him. Leo nodded and walked to the seats. Earlier, he wasn't actually thinking of anything else than meeting Mr Greene and informing him that he's made his decision. But now, he feels paranoid. What if Mr Greene has change
Leo sniffed and nodded. He wiped the corner of his eyes and read the remaining part of the agreement. The few things Mr James mentioned to him earlier were in it. He continued reading until he saw another baffling request in the agreement. "Grandfather!," He called out, making James turn to look at him sharply. James already knows why Leo called his attention so he just stared back and waited to hear what he had to say. "I have to bear the family's name also?," Leo sounded confused. James nodded. "After signing this agreement, you would be allowed to bear the family name. That is if you want to. Did you read it well? I am not making it compulsory for you to carry on my legacy. It's just a...," He let his words trail off. Leo blinked. It's just what? Why is he leaving his words halfway? "I understand," He assured James and then swiftly signed in the required places. He's gone through the agreement and has no other complaints. He has realized that everything written in the agre
"Old age must be making grandfather go crazy! How could he have even thought of something like that!?," This feminine shrill was what welcomed Leo's presence in the foyer. He stopped walking and gave James a questioning look. "Mom, remind me why grandfather still hasn't gone to the retirement home yet? Isn't he old enough?," Leo's eyes widened at the rude words the unknown female spat out. "Let's go," James nudged, not showing any reaction at the rude words that were clearly directed at him. "That's my father you are talking about. What the heck is wrong with you Heaven?," The second voice made Leo realize that it's not one person that's in the sitting room. There are two... Two females. "Well, he is my grandfather!," Leo finally walked in and saw the lady that had been causing the ruckus. His nose scrunched up as her outfits were the first thing that caught his eyes. Why is she wearing such a short skirt? Her top even has stripes all over to the extent that he can see the co
#Mason's Group Of Companies Acquired Tim's Group Successfully# Leo's eyes turned rigid as he watched Scott smiling happily in a video that was tagged to the headline. The bastard acquired one more asset to his name, making another stance in the business world. He increased the volume of his phone and the room resounded with Scott's voice as he entertained the media happily. "This wouldn't be a success if it wasn't for the capable team backing me up," Scott's words were loud and clear as he pointed to a group of people. The media and the crowd cheered loudly as familiar faces stepped on the stage. Leo shook with anger as he watched the people he had painstakingly trained for years standing behind Scott. Everyone of them is an employee of Platinum. People he had brought up from scratch and modified their talents. Now someone else is reaping off their success. Leo switched off the phone in anger and threw it on the bed. He drained his wine quickly and filled the glass to the bri
She turned around to go back to the office. "I'm issuing a divorce immediately." Leo pulled her back and informed her amusedly,"Mrs Ceo, you must be married to me for at least six months to be able to issue a divorce." Heaven's eyes turned red from shyness and she spat out,"You trickster!" Leo moved closer and bent low to whisper into her ears,"Did I also trick you last night to... Mmph" His mouth was immediately covered by Heaven who looked around cautiously and flushed endlessly. She was asleep okay. He was the one that took advantage of her! Leo laughed and she was forced to release her hand when his lips vibrated against it sensually. "We didn't go all the way... Perhaps we could explore further tonight and maybe make a baby to appease the Grampa Wave." "You told grandpa?" She shrieked with widened eyes. "He didn't seem pleased," Leo led her to the car. Heaven felt infuriated. "You... You didn't even... Argh!" She screamed when she realized she was lost f
Leo scratched his head sheepishly and answered,"She is fine grandpa. She is asleep." Wave squinted his old eyes at the youngster and asked in a gruff time,"Why did you snatch her away? She only just came back and needs to rest. You didn't—" "Grandfather, we are heading to the bureau tomorrow." There was sudden silence in this revelation. Emily looked surprised and a smile soon spread out on her face. Meanwhile, Wave was speechless. When the words finally sunk in his brain, he yelled,"You rascal! How long have you had your eyes on her? How long has this been going on? Do you really think you'd be able to get her to the bureau without consulting me first?" Leo cringed at the noise. "Grandfather, she agreed to it. I'm afraid she might run off this time if I don't hold her down. Sorry I didn't let you know before this." "No... This is unacceptable! How could you—" "Congratulations cousin! Remember to share cash souvenirs after the registration," Q's voice from the back
The atmosphere of the car seemed to get even colder with the distance covered. Q quivered and looked consequently from Leo who'd literally turned to a huge block of ice emitting strong frostiness and Heaven, who was just sitting quietly in a corner. 'Just make up already,' he groaned inwardly but didn't say a word. All of a sudden, Leo ordered the chauffeur to stop the car, just a few meters away from Wave's manor. He ignored the looks he got from Q and Heaven and ordered,"Get out." Quan and Heaven exchanged looks confusedly until he repeated his words again,"Get out." The passenger's door automatically opened. Without thinking, Heaven made an attempt to walk out but Leo halted her movement with a cold glare. He was sitting opposite her so as soon as she saw the way he glared at her, she subconsciously sat back. Quan didn't need anyone to tell him that the person asked to get out was him. With grievance in his heart, he walked out. As he watched the car zoom off,
"Humph!" Valerie harrumphed when they appeared at the doorway of the conference room. She gave the woman, supposedly one of the receptionists, a condescending look and remarked,"Didn't you say I wasn't allowed into the company? Just my name was enough to make him run to me. I'll surely make you regret what you did today." Leo didn't refute her word as he was pushed in. He simply dismissed the receptionist,"You can leave." The receptionist was relieved to leave that place cause she immediately hurried away. "Boss, you have twenty more minutes till the next meeting," Jake bent low to inform him. He nodded and looked at Valerie with that same expressionless face. "You have just ten minutes. Why did you want to see me by all means?" Valerie appeared a bit embarrassed. She didn't think the receptionist would relay her words to Leo exactly as she said them. But she hid her embarrassed expression and frowned at Jake's presence. "I want to speak to you privately. Ask him to lea
But Jake didn't dare blurt out this thought. He cleared his throat and walked forward with a file. Pushing it forward, he said," I arranged your schedule again like you asked me to. Your next meeting is with the multinational company to close the deal...Blah blah blah," He recounted every single meeting schedule he'd arranged and Leo listened quietly while eating. However, the latter's eyes suddenly fell on a strange file. One he's never seen before. "Which file is that?" He pointed at it. Jake looked at it and suddenly reacted like he'd forgotten to mention something while saying the schedule just now. "You asked me to research Mason's company, remember? Initially, I got the result and wanted to inform you but that thing with uncle Miles came up and you asked me to suspend it." As he explained, Leo's eyes darkened. How could he simply forget about those two? He hasn't had his revenge on Scott and Mandy yet, so how could he let them be? He'd completely forgotten about
Leo looked up at the collection of pictures on the table and a soft look suddenly adorned his cold features. At first, he had been very confused as to why Heaven suddenly decided to leave the country months ago. The crisis was over and there were no murder threats anymore so why did she suddenly insist on going abroad? He had been angered and bittered about her decision for a long time, feeling she was inconsiderate of his feelings and simply selfish until he found the real reason why she went abroad. A month after her departure, he began to receive emails from Q with pictures of Heaven's endeavors abroad. Leo unintentionally moved closer to look at the pictures closely. One picture had Heaven wearing this cute overalls with a pencil tucked behind her ear and a folder in her hand. She was standing in front of a Corp. smiling at a company of three unfamiliar men. Leo frowned and suddenly brought out scissors from a drawer to trim out the other Intruders in the picture. Jake
"Mr Greene is fine and out of danger now. There weren't complications during the surgery since we were able to detect the poison early so he is perfectly okay," the doctor watched the people around him breath in relief. They were now in a fresh, clean Vvip ward and Leo was lying unconscious on the bed with Heaven sitting by his side. Receiving no questions, the doctor continued with his speech,"We would just like to put him under observation for some days because the poison weakened his body system and coupled with the large portion of anesthesia found in his blood—" Q coughed nervously when he heard this and subconsciously moved away from Wave who turned to the doctor with a puzzled look. "Anesthesia?" The doctor nodded at Wave's question. "Yes, we discovered that he had been injected with an overdose of anesthesia." Detective Tom itched his head nervously and exchanged a look with Q. Wave looked furious once again. "Just how far was Miles willing to go to get
"We should head there and wait for the operation to be over," Detective Tom suggested and others nodded in agreement to their words. As they left the ward and headed to the operation theater, Larson could still feel something was wrong. He glanced at everyone and turned to Q. "Say..." He whispered. "What happened while I was gone?" "Nothing," Q didn't even look at him. Larson took a stance against the walls as grandma Emily led Heaven to a bench. They had gotten to the operation theater and the bulb was still showing the red light to indicate that there was an ongoing operation. Larson pulled Q back when he saw that the latter was going to join grandma Emily and Heaven on the bench. He moved closer and asked again in a hushed tone,"Nothing?" "Why are you being so nosy all of a sudden? I already told you nothing happened." "I believe you are lying," Larson glared at him but this didn't faze the latter. "If you really don't want to tell, I'll get answers from the detective." "As
There was a sudden deafening silence in the room. Everyone literally froze at Q's revelation. "What?" Detective Tom managed to choke out. Q nodded. "Yes, my name is Quan Greene." "Which of the Greene's?" It was after detective Tom asked this question did he realize how stupid it sounds. He turned to Wave. "Granduncle, do you secretly have an illegitimate child outside that gave birth to this grandson?" As if on cue, grandma Emily and Wave glared at him at the same time causing him to seal his lips with his fingers. "Don't say nonsense and don't call me granduncle. I am not your relative. Do we look alike?" Wave retorted. "What's going on? Why is the private investigator saying his name is Quan Greene? How is he related to us?" Grandma Emily immediately demanded an answer. Wave ignored them and moved forward. He suddenly held Q and shook the boy. The sudden attack caused Q to feel light-headed. "You stinky child! You've been here the whole time yet you didn't come
