Chapter Fifty

“Mr. Charles?” The officer called his attention again.

Soon, Vera showed up, and James was right beside her. Charles was so glad that he could almost jump up, but he comported himself.

“I have evidence, and my people will show you the evidence.” Charles replied as he leaned back in his chair.

Mark stepped down from the podium, hoping it wasn’t something which the audience would believe. Vera climbed up to the podium, and played a recorder of both Angela and George’s chat, using the microphone.

Angela glared at Mark who was now standing beside her.

“Are you for real? So, those months you spent getting closer to him, you didn’t get rid of that one evidence?” Angela said, through her teeth.

“I…I didn’t think he was going to be able to use this, because he spoke like he wasn’t going to use this evidence publicly.” Mark tried to defend himself.

“Oh, goodness. Stop acting like you’re a child, Mark. What the hell!” Angela snapped, although in a low tone.

“Let’s just hope things go our way.”
